Skyrim sometimes crashes after dying and reloading last save

Hi, I have a fairly large load order. My Skyrim seems fairly stable for the most part except sometimes whenever I die, the game promptly crashes to desktop once loading the last save finishes. Other times, the game doesn't crash and I can continue for a long time until I'm tired of playing. I'm just hoping someone knowledgeable out there finds this humble little post amongst the crowd and will be able to help me out. I use Mod Organizer. I used LOOT to sort my mods. I used TES5Edit to find undesirable mod conflicts so I could inform LOOT to better sort my mods. I also used TES5Edit to make a merged patch. Then I used Wrye Bash to make a bashed patch. I check my recent saves with Skyrim save game cleaner and clean any orphan scripts if there are any. Especially when I remove or update mods, because I understand how dangerous that could be. I know there's probably more I could do/ something I am doing wrong, but this is as far as my modding knowledge gets. Here's my load order:

If you have any more questions or information you need from me to better help me, don't hesitate to ask! I'm not afraid to be scolded for bad modding practice, I want to get better! I'm okay with removing a few bad mods from this list if necessary. I understand I have quite a few mods on here that depend on scripts. I just want the crashes to stop. If you made it this far, good on you and thanks SO much for your time!

For Apocalypse, I know I have the steam workshop version. This was back when I first started modding (I've been playing my character for months now) Since the steam and nexus versions have different esp versions, switching to nexus version didn't work because I lost all my apocalypse spells upon doing so. I think theoretically, this could be solved with TES5Edit, but I didn't risk it. Instead, to allow MO to manage this mod, I went to the skyrim data folder, copied the apocalypse files to the overwrite folder in MO so I could create a mod out of them, then deleted the files still left in the skyrim data folder and unsubscribed from the mod, repeating this process everytime there was an update.

What you're seeing is perfectly normal. When a game is loaded over another running game (which is what happens with the auto-reload on death) the game only partially re-initializes things. Depending on exactly what had happened between the time that save was created and the time it was reloaded all sorts of things could have gotten into strange combinations of states resulting in a crash. Worse yet, when the game doesn't crash all sorts of corrupted data can get stored into saves you make later.

If you want a fully stable game there are a few things you should avoid.

  1. Never uninstall mods mid-game and keep playing with that same character.
  2. Never reload a save over top of an already running game.
    • Don't use Quickload (but quicksave and autosave are fine).
    • Don't choose the quit to main menu option.
    • Don't allow the game to auto-reload on death.

If you uninstall mods or reload saves you will have corruption in your savegame files. The savegame cleaner can help to remove some of the worst of the corruption but can't fix everything. Eventually you'll accumulate enough problems to cause crashes and other undesirable behaviors. If your game crashes after an auto-reload at death consider yourself lucky because it means you won't accidentally store more corruption into your next save.

I suppose that makes sense. I am a compulsive manual saver. I NEVER overwrite saves because I know I will run into problems which could be solved by loading an earlier save. So I guess instead of waiting for the game to autoload upon death, I should pause the game myself and then reload a save? I always liked watching my dead body lying there while stuff goes on around me haha. Well, thanks for the useful info! By the way, how does my load order look? I worked quite hard to make the setup do what I wanted.
