It's obnoxious and spammy and extremely poor forum etiquette.

 

It would be like walking into a restaurant and screaming "I AM HUNGRY PLEASE GIVE ME SOME FOOD."

 

You don't need to "get peoples attention." People will see it, and  whether or not people choose to respond to it is up to them. 

 

I actually agree Nick needs a retexture, but I can't support at all the way you've gone about asking this here. Learn to respect the people the you are trying to talk to and ask things of.

+1 for "Stop with the all caps rudeness" here. There's no need to "get people's attention" in a community this huge. If someone thinks it's a good idea, they'll likely think less of it just because of the method of shouting used to call attention.
