XCOM EU MEC troopers without the MeEC suit.

I have always felt that MEC troopers looked way better without the mechanical suits they must don in order to be sent into combat. I am wondering if it is possible to mod in a custom class or something that gave a MEC enhanced soldier a different kind of bonus when sent on a mission without the armor. Please tell me if this is just a pipe dream.

I think it's a pipe dream because there's likely no useful animations for that model.

THIS is the whole reason I checked out these forums right now, because I've been so annoyed with the lack of MEC Trooper mods, and most comments I ever find regarding MEC Troopers are people being freaked out over their existence. I love how the MECs look without their gigantic armor pieces and I just don't see why they can't leave the base with a weapon in arm or to defend it when base attack happens.

 

As for no useful animations, just give them the standard soldier one?

 

There are so many things one could do with them ( in theory at least ) such as giving them specialized armor to protect their joints and weak spots, of course also to retain the robotic voice. Just allow them to walk into combat looking like a MEC without armor, holding a rifle, would be a good start.
