FOMM question

sorry if this is a silly question, i'm still fairly new to modding (successfully). is changing the load order of the mods using FOMM as simple as clicking and dragging them to the order you want them in? i only ask because when i check the "Data Files" option in the start up menu they're all over the place. does that menu not indicate the order the mods are in?

Changing the load order in FOMM is just as you describe. Click and drag.

As for the "Data Files", the only time I ever looked there was to enable the DLCs. When I started to add mods to my game, I always used a mod manager.

this is an entirely unrelated question, but i don't want to start a new topic for it.

so let me explain my problem. i had several mods installed, including Project Nevada, WMX and Fallout Character Overhaul. it was a little clunky and stuck a bit at the main menu but it wasn't anything terrible. the only problem was it crashed very occaisionally, so i installed the New Vegas Anti Crash, which must have ruined my saves (no big deal). so now i try to start a new game without the NVAC installed and FCO just completely loses it's s#*!. if i try to run the game with both NVAC and FCO on at the same time i get a pop up about a missing master file (or something), if i try to run it with just FCO the game just immediately crashes.

i've completely reloaded the game several times, reinstalled NMM, tried to delete and reinstall the mods (most of them don't even delete themselves), nothing. i've gone through the invalidation process to the letter, but now all the NPC's are giant red warning signs (i know that's to do with the invalidation, so i apparently didn't follow the process right, although i've done it several times now).

i guess my main question is this: before installing NVAC everything worked basically fine, after installing it FCO can't even kind of work. what the hell happened exactly? and how might i be able to fix it?
