So im looking for some modders who would like to work on a mod similar to interesting NPC's in Skyrim Except when you have a settlement I noticed if you played fallout vault app on your phone when you open a card you can get rare Npc's so why when you run a settlement and you reach a certain happiness you don't have rare Npc show up with a Unique name and Unique set of skills maybe they for instance .............you reach 50 happiness you leave your settlement all of the sudden a day or two goes by and Jack farris a traveling trader shows up to run one of your stores also he just so happens to carry a rare weapon or two in his store never before seen or..........Lucas Simms strolls into one of your settlements and he will automatically stroll around protecting your settlers and he also wears a rare trench coat with special stats , we can do this as a simple set up for starts by just adding named characters that show up, then later add specific characters known from the fallout audience with custom faces clothes, weapons,skills , voice acting ect,

Okay first of all, this is not possible till Bethseda releases G.E.C.K.

 

Second of all, this is a good idea. I personally am sick of seeing Settler arrive in my settlement. I was actually thinking about having randomly generated names for settlers and I like the idea of rare settlers. Like having a person spawn with say a mechanic outfit and the wielding mask the BoS wear but they are coloured different to the default colour and they would also have special stats on the items so you knew they were different from the default clothing. I'd like to see runaway Synths and BoS outcasts arriving in settlements as rare character spawns aswell. Like for e.g. doing a certain quest would trigger having the chance of one of those two options.

Alright. I apologise for being a bit cranky; still hard to work through OP's wall, but Basil's reply helps me connect the dots on where I get blurry.

Named settlers is a known issue at the moment; the generic NPCs of towns in NV & FO3 still had names. We've got stopgap batches that let you rename the NPCs manually, but no method of randomly generating them automatically until after the GECK comes out (and we can script).

As for rare settlers; might be able to flag settlers as being able to have 'legendary' spawning, which'd allow different armor styles.
