(Request) Pack Brahmin

I love collecting EVERYTHING, as such I am always overloaded. I would like a pack Brahmin, like the ones the traveling merchants have, but I do not want it to be a companion. If possible I would like to leave it outside what ever building/area I am taking and use it to carry my loot. There is a mod out there that someone has made, however it replaces or takes up the companion slot. I think this would make a fun quest and/or purchase for our 111 wanderer.

 

In conjunction with this or as a separate endeavor, could someone make the settlement Brahmin useful? Perhaps we could harvest milk from them, make cheese, or use in some other way???

Hmm this is a good idea, and if not making it so you can make it follow you without making it a companion, there is a mod to make it so you can have more than a single follower. Weither it is any good, I would have no clue. We might even have to wait for G.E.C.K to make this possible. Edited by Basil456

that's a damn good idea! :)

 

I grab EVERYTHING, even when I had to crawl back to settlements, because..it let me build settlements! ;)

the Strong Back perk becomes a must to maximize

so a pack Brahmin, "immortal" and neutral to all, you could leave outside zones you want to loot/fight in, would rock

and a way to "call" it if it gets lost.

I love this idea. I'm a packrat too. Maybe make it an option that the brahmin can be killed, but leaves a corpse with a pack and all the stuff so you can recover it if necessary. (An option, not required. I don't want mine to die. :tongue:)

 

A questline started by finding a baby one and befrending it with some carrots or razorgrain, and it levels with you or over time, carrying capacity increasing as it gets bigger.

 

Upgrades could include a cart (More capacity, no speed penalty), armor for it (harder to kill if the option is on), a beacon (if it gets attacked and runs away, you can find it. Something like the 'this is where you last left your power armor'), traveling armor/weapon workbenches (Maybe toggleable option to use the 'supply line' supplies or only what you have locally), lights (work lights with a tiny windmill to power them at night), bigass African water buffalo horns (with moddable upgrades like barbed and bladed) to let it defend itself, and/or a machinegun or laser turret mounted on the pack.

 

...you know, I just realized. The game is set in and around Boston, and the 'big dog' four legged robot is developed by Boston Dynamics. It was originally intended as a military pack robot to carry things for soldiers. It seems like it would be perfect for this.

Some great ideas Starchaser! Now we need a mod-er to help us out!

 

If it's even at all possible right now to modify anything that uses quests, it's extremely difficult to do it properly. You need to wait for the GECK. That said, in the meantime, someone uploaded this like a week before your request:

Sorry, did read the first post but somehow in my half-asleep mind missed that part, but what you want literally isn't possible right now. (And if it somehow is, that person who figures it out is really good and seriously needs to talk to me.) And no, no one knows when the GECK will be released except that it'll be sometime in 2016.

 

Btw, the quest that controls the caravans (at least that's what it looked like to me) cannot be edited right now. It has a different structure than Skyrim and they haven't fixed it yet. So changing stuff with caravans isn't likely possible either.

 

I constantly troll this forum looking for mod requests that I actually know how to make pre-GECK, this is not one of them. I merely wanted you to know that what you're asking for most likely wont be done until after GECK.
