sense you do not have that available, I am showing you the results step by step.

your interest will regard the result of the install, I'll provide the link you the steam workaround, the only one that does qualify as a substitute replacement.

Nmm can not read files locked by the OS. windows 10.

this is the root of the virgin game directory as it needs to be before we get started fixing the game for you.

I am showing you the differences between retail and steam.

perfect Mouse went dead, hold on

-----------------------------------------

you gonna need this mod / tool, download the file called steam from here:

http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/4635/?

once installed, test run it. the version is very special...the esp is not really needed, just the executable is required.

once done, and it runs ?

post results.

more information incoming.

your gonna need to run the setup for the garden of creation kit, and run that, click on the about / help button in the geck to verify it is the 1rst version.

then install the geck's update program....all done with this "steam backwards compatible engine enabled / installed"

it writes to the engine and files in the data folder if there are out dated files. just so you know.

once the geck has been updated, test run the geck and the game.

next...run the patcher program for the game to update to 1.7 version...now reboot the PC and test the game.

post results.

your going to need the files that stop xlive controls from working on launch.

they are contained in this package (http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/54991/?)

you need version (FOMM v0.14.11.9) when you install it, there wil be a data folder that comes with it, in there, copy the 3 xlive files to the root of the game folder. this will block the DRM effecting the games launch cycle.

it's important you understand all this, any questions, keep them simple.

all this is done blind folded as I am not there to witness what goes on, I only know what takes place...thousands of times been through all of this.

Mkay, none of those things worked. Sorry I'm havin trouble following along with all this techy talk stuff, anyways, the steam file thing didn't work, just kinda opened a small black window at the top left of my screen and it closed after a few seconds, the GECK updated and that made the steam file run up until the main menu, and ctd. Also I installed the FOMM but couldn't find the data folder that came with it.
