Is it just me, or am I the only one looking at people that say "they have 60 hours in this game and haven't touched the story" and asking what game are you playing? I've beat the game 2 times already and I don't feel like there is much to do in the game. I am asking you guys/gals to fix me on this cause I want to play fallout more but it feels like I'm just running around clearing land marks with out any real side quests. Idk it just feels shallow to me. beat Rail road and BOS story working on institute and minute men

Haven't started the quest and don't intend to. Never did the ones in Skyrim or New Vegas either. I enjoy the open world exploring that Bethesda games offer and that's why I play them almost exclusively. That's what keeps me coming back.

If you don't enjoy exploring, and I generally don't, Bethesda games are not for you. Unless they're made by Obsidian. The radiant quests are way more shallow then they need to be, and Honest Trailers was right, there's way too much grinding on the Minutemen end. Bethesda games are very very shallow, it's why I never liked Morrowind, it's why I LOATHED Fallout 3 vanilla and why I'm sick to F***ing death of burrow crawling in Skyrim. Bethesda took the worst parts of tabletop and went from there. Bioware on the other hand, took the best of tabletop....

Try different playstyles, they demand different investment.

If you play the game picking up every gun available to you, using it and never devoting yourself to two weapons or a type of weapon like only melee, only pistols, only small guns, only heavy guns, only energy weapons, etc.... then you will fly through the game, because you are just picking up what is convenient and mish mashing things together for no rhyme or reason.

I decided to do my first run as a power armored energy weapons BoS character. In order to feed my need for cores, repairs, and energy weapon ammo as well as leveling up investing in both the Gun Nut and Science! perks, I need to do a lot of grinding, I need to appreciate the little things, adventure, scavenge, build settlements and make Mutfruit slave camps to have a steady income, as well as building scavenging stations to at all settlements that I have to feed the need for resources.

This takes a lot of time, and I haven't even really touched that many quests and I'm like 2 days in as my save file says.

If you cheat in some way, or don't care to have a specific playstyle with a character, you will only have one playthrough and that's it, because it will be boring, since you used all weapons at one point, wore all armor, etc... you didn't play a specific role, and it makes for no reason to go back and do everything over.

It's just my opinion, but I think that's fun, to restrict yourself to one play style per run, that way you have something else to do when you start over. Next run, I'll be doing a sneaky run with all sorts of suppressed weaponry as like an Agent 47 type of character.

The game is as shallow as you make it to be. I think that it's fun just walking around in my power armor, finding enemies to kill for loot, and then going back to a settlement or town to sell or scrap stuff. Take the slow method to enjoy the game the most.

BioWare took what best parts of tabletop? Character generation, progression is not appreciably different from tabletop / PnP to PC/Console RPG. That leaves how adventuring was done. Because if I wanted a tight narrative, I'd simply read a book.
