Uninstalling texture packs with an esp. mid game.

Hi all, is it safe to uninstall a texture pack mid game that has an esp.? This pertains to Tamriel Reloaded HD, a merged plugin.

First question: I'm running it with 1k textures at the moment (which are installed afterward, and overwrite the original 2k textures that come with the mod), but would like to re-try the 2k textures. I think that this will require me to uninstall the 1k textures with NMM, uninstall the plugin that held the 2k (because they were overwritten), and then reinstall the 2k plugin. Is this a safe thing to do, or will I bust my save into a million pieces?

Second question (and similar-ish to the first): Say that I want to uninstall the plugin entirely and run Skyrim HD 2k and SFO. Can I simply uninstall through NMM and have that not be an issue?

I realise these are probably ooby questions, but I'm not exceedingly savvy with this stuff, so any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers.

If the plug-in held by name only stored in the saved game remains the same exact spelling, then no, there should be NO ill effects.

How ever, if the plug-in name changes, even by one character, then the game engine will reset your save on load.

textures harm nothing, mesh files on the other hand may harm things and bork the saved game file as they might be loading slightly different files.

basically, the term "plug-in" is supposed to act just as it says..plug and play..what's important to keep in mind is the name.

if the data, say textures and mesh folders are temporarily moved out and you were to say use "blank Plug-ins" with the same exact names as the Originals..the game will load VIA default and not Bork the saved game file, It will how ever remove all instances of any layered surfaces kept by that saved game file...this is a method used to clean a saved game in it's natural Environment and not cause undue damage to the save.

make sure the names are the same for the plug-ins and no issue should arise.
