Vault Girl Mod Development Thread

I noticed this changes the dialoguemenu file that full dialogue interface uses, I know it's been addressed already but just curious what your dialogue menu file is adding? Or what's lost by removing it?

My dialogue menu file changes the Speech pop up animation to be Vault Girl. For some reason Bethesda embedded the animation within the dialogue menu as well as having it in the folder with the perks and special animations.

Full dialogue interface is another mod I want to make a patch for.

Any news on when defui compatibility is inbound? I'm patient, just curious.

Not really sure when. It uses a fomod installer with a lot of customization so I've just been trying to figure out what I need to do to modify it correctly.

Here's an update to the mod!

Vault Girl Mod - Alpha 1.6 (10/23/16)

It makes a few adjustments to existing perks, fixes a tiny problem with the hud from the last version of the mod, and adds several perks. Here are the new Vault Girl Perks added:

Quoting so that people see it on the new page.

Ahh, weird! Makes sense, but weird. Thanks for clearing that up and please keep up the amazing work!

Edit: One more thing, if you don't mind my harassing you. I use DEF_UI, mostly for the ability to see components of junk without having to pick them up. I noticed your Hudmenu.swf file overwrites DEF_UI's and I end up losing this feature. Not a problem at all, I can live without it, just wondering if I could ask you to take a peek at DEF_UI's file and see if it's possible to make the two compatible? Thanks again for all your help :)

Yep those are the two mods that I've gotten a ton of requests to make a patch for. I sent out PM's to the mod authors today asking them if they are okay with me making patches, which requires me to modify and re-upload files from their mods.

I'm having troubles of figuring out how to get this to work with my game... :/ Is there a folder I'm suppose to drop the file into, in my Fallout 4 steam file?

Like other mods, you extract the files inside the data folder, into your data folder. However, if you are asking this, you might not have installed others, and you may need to do other steps.

You can find all of the details here.

You can also install it using the Nexus Mod Manager. Go to your mods list and press the green plus symbol to add a new mod from file. Select the zip file you downloaded that has my mod in it and add it to NMM. Then activate it like normal. I'll add this info to the front page.

It's the interaction between DEF_UI and this mod. I got around it by manually selecting each individual file for installation and choosing DEF_UI files over this mod's. However the inventory file (with the Vault Girl armour slots) works just fine I found in tandem with DEF_UI.

I installed this and everything but the perk tree works. Is this supposed to be the case? I ask because flipping through the pages, it looks like perk animations have been worked on.

Also, does anyone know off hand a mod that would let me place the posters from this where Id like?

Thanks,

J.
