tritonforge
Skyrim had a decent ecosystem but in Fallout it feels like I'm seeing the same things over and over. Can ugly, irradiated rabbits be brought in? Acknowledging the existing creatures and their game size, assumed diet, or niche (no need for buffalo if we have brahmin, or wolves if we have hounds/mongrels already)...then here are someOther Ideas:- mutated foxes- mutated pigs- mutated sheep- mutated, giant frogs- mutated snakes- there were slaughterfish in skyrim; can we try to add the live, carnivorous dolphins we see on the shore? swimming and aggro you from the depths, one hit chomp out? so now that I'm immune to swimming radiation, the ocean isn't just a fun shortcut? This addition also adds immersion, and an incentive to hunt for food/meat. I can't stomach bloatfly anymore, man. I just can't. Would love to see something scurry in the wasteland and I snipe it with my Deliverer, Mad Max style, and cook some ugly rabbit for lunch.
NikitaDarkstar
I second this, it'd be awesome to have something along these lines. Also with all the massive, mutated, flying insects around it seems to me that it'd make sense if there were some bigger, mutated birds that preys on those, and well, people... Either way, some more wild life would be cool... I just wonder if it's actually possible to do until the GECK comes out.
imadillo
With all the squirrel and iguana bits around there should at least be some of those lying around. There are some domesticated cats and we see a lot of birds, so feral cats would probably be able to survive. There are also fish models lying around, but no live fish. I can believe that molerats and radroaches are able to survive off slime molds and roots, but it definitely doesn't make sense that all these large predators are able to survive without enough prey to support them. Maybe seeing some more pond scum and animal remains would help. Washed up things, brahmin skulls, dead radstags, etc.
azrielmoha
How about rats? They're the most abundant mammals in the city and they somewhat replaced by the less common mole rats? I want a giant rat, evolved to scavenge and prey on large insects.
azrielmoha
Sorry for the double post, but here's my list if someone make a mod similiar to this, or a fallout 4 Marts Mutants Mod. -evolved carnivorous giant rat-medium size spiders with dozens of species -giant crickets and grasshoppers-ducks -evolved pigeons -evolved pigs, now they're look like their wild cousins -mutated omnivorous horse, just don't make it a devil horse or something -a reskin or a new model for the Mirelurk King and give it a new name, since it's not a crustacean, it probably a genetically engineered salamander, would explain it ability to emit sonar. -giant snakes, yes snakes!! oolongdao
I eighth this. with the various monster mods out there it cant be that big of a deal to make 5 more natural animals. we don't need many just enough that it makes the game feel less empty. dem0nbreather
The lack of live squirrels and iguanas occurred to me too. Over the past few days I've noticed a crazy amount of insect replacment requests by arachnophobic players, (I had no clue that was an issue in gaming) so maybe squirrels and iguanas could replace the bugs? I would like to keep radscorps and roaches in my game, but it wouldn't hurt to see more diversity. I like the idea of rats, aquatic threats and more predators in general. Also, it would be nice to see some of the predatory creatures feasting on their prey. If a deathclaw kills a wild brahmin, I kind of expect to see it take a few bites instead of just immediately wandering off.
humanindustry
Very much agree with this, when doing my last mod I went over the animals in the game, then compared it to New Vegas and missed a few animals that were in that game. Giant rats (makes so much sense to have there), Geckos (same, and were in FO3 too), night stalkers (look so cool), coyotes and bighorners. Really hate insects and spiders even more, so can live without more of those... Besides the things people have mentioned here, sheep too. Radsheep that are violent and attack you while going "Baaaah" would be pretty fun. (Black Sheep is a good example of why violent sheep are fun) Only problem is that new animals requires new meshes (a few might be altered to work, but probably just a few), and animations since we can't rip off the New Vegas/FO3 ones according to the rules here (if I've interpreted them correctly), which requires a lot more skill than say, retextures or playing around in geck or fo4edit which is a lot easier to learn.
