Samus w/Varia Suit/Power Armor

As soon as I started playing Fallout 4, I kept thinking of how cool it would be if someone modded a Metroid theme into the game. I'm extremely picky, however, so I decided to do it myself. I started working on a mod to put Samus in the game with her Varia Suit while still keeping to the theme of Fallout 4. Unfortunately I recently lost all my files due to my son thinking my laptop was a trampoline... lol. Anyway, I am now coming here to explain what I was trying to do in the hopes that another modder with more time on their hands might want to take on the project themselves.

The idea:

Create a starting game save right after character creation. The saved character would be a slightly scarred up Samus Aran (she had to get some damage during all those fights with Ridley right?). You would then continue to play the game as normal, but as Samus Aran.

The story:

Samus has returned to earth and stored her ship and the Varia Suit (Power Armor) away in a bunker near Sanctuary Hills. After being gone for so long Samus is finally ready to settle down, and she now has a new baby and husband. (The Fallout 4 game continues the story from here.)

The modding:

I wanted the theme of everything to remain close to the Fallout 4 game. I didn't want to be running around in the Fallout 4 world feeling like I was out of place. I wanted to make it feel like Samus and her Varia Power Armor really belonged in the game as the main character. Because of this I tried to just slightly edit existing meshes and textures to create everything.

Meshes

My primary goal of this mod was to create a Varia Power Armor. To do this I started using the legs of T-45, torso of T-51, arms of T-60, and head of T-60.
In addition to the following edits, I was trying to thin out the calves, arms, and waist. I was also planning to thicken the upper arms near the shoulders, the chest a bit, and the thighs. Afterward I was going to test it for clipping and edit it as needed.
Helmet
Most major edits would be on the helmet to remove some of the extra meshes and then edit it look more like Samus's Power Suit Helmet. Of course Samus's face shield would be worked in and the lower half of the helmet brought out to look more like the shape of Samus's helmet. I chose the T-60 helmet because it was the easiest for me to edit in this way... before I lost my files.
Arms
The biggest thing here was creating a new spherical mesh, almost the size of the helmet (maybe about half, I don't remember), for the shoulders. On this I was in the process of editing the mesh to match the rest of the armor as well as cutting out the right area so there is no clipping while moving in the armor. Other than that, I was going to add in the elbow spikes/wedges, but not too much as to seem like it didn't belong.
Torso
Not much would need to be done here as the T-51 torso already closely resembles what I would think of as a Fallout version of the Varia Suit torso.
Legs
For the legs I had made the foot a bit thinner and longer to make it more feminine. I also added spikes/wedges to the top of the foot and knee to make it look a little more like the Varia Suit legs. I made the knees look a lot thinner by bringing in the joints, and I extended the top of the thighs a bit while also flaring them out a little bit.
Missile Arm
I hadn't worked on this at all yet, but I assumed it would be tricky. It would be a standalone weapon and a mix between the Broadsider, any pistol, and the missile launcher. Basically I wanted to edit the barrel of the Broadsider to look a bit more like the missile arm. I would then use a pistol grip which would reach about halfway into the barrel. This way, when the weapon is used it would look like it is attached to the arm. Missiles would be the ammo with the targeting computer as the sight.
Pistol
I was going to simply edit the 10mm pistol to look like Samus's pistol. While doing this I was trying to keep the shape similar to the original so the weapon mods still look good with it. This way it would just replace the 10mm without needing to edit any of the weapon mods.
Samus's Ship
For the ship I was planning to slightly edit the alien ship to make it look more like Samus's ship. I wasn't sure about this one though because I didn't want to end up making her ship look more alien than the alien ship.
Textures
All the textures for the Power Armor were being done from scratch; however, I was looking at current armors for the rustic look (I wanted it to look like the Varia Suit had been sitting for a long time).
-Texture the Varia Power Armor
-Texture the Missile Arm
-Texture the 10mm Pistol replacement
-Re-texture a power armor frame to compliment the Varia Power Armor. I was planning on using a color scheme of the power suit that Samus starts off with in most Metroid games, which is mostly yellow except the shoulders, neck, and head areas.
-Re-texture the vault 111 suit to look like the Zero Suit.
-Re-texture the pip boy to a blue, red, orange, or red/orange theme... whichever looks best.
-Texture new Samus ship if created.
Placement
-A note would be in the players inventory with directions, and maybe a drawn map, to the bunker.
-A large bunker building with large bay doors would be placed near Sanctuary Hills ( I was planning to put it where a little shack already exist). In addition the little shack would be rebuilt on and around the bunker with typical raider items placed all over. There would also be a few raider spawns around the shack and some roaches inside the bunker.
-Inside the bunker would be a bunch of maintenance equipment decorations.
-Samus's ship would be in the bunker with the Varia Power Armor off to the side in one of those armor cages. A novice computer hacking lock would be on the cage. There would also be a key found in the character's bedroom that would open the cage.
-The Missile Arm would also be in the bunker locked away in a chest with an expert lock-picking lock and an expert computer lock.
Other
-With this mod I was planning on piggy-backing off of some other mods and then listing them in my description. I'm not sure which ones yet because I haven't gotten that far to need them.
-For armor crafting mods, I was planning for them to simply correspond with the original part. The main reason for this and limiting certain mesh edits was so mods like the T-60 headlamp or T-51 jetpack would already fit nicely without needed to edit that too.
-I wasn't really planning on any weapon crafting for the Missile Arm, but I guess it would be nice to be able to upgrade to the triple or quad launcher, or to change the ammo to cannonballs or mini-nukes, or to add legendary mods...
Further Plans
-If this mod went well, I was also going to try to replace the power armor running animation, with an armor roll, but that was an idea on hold.
-I was also considering replacing the "super mutant" name with "space pirate" and re-texturing and re-meshing some of their gear to be more futuristic.
Well, that's my idea and what I was working on before I lost my files. Let me know what you think.

Sorry to necro this thread, but the Viral Power Armor included in the Mexico DLC mod (which was also ported standalone into the Viral Power Armor mod) actually has an issue where the skin of the player actually shows between the gap of the leg armor and the butt-part of the torso armor. I've been trying desperately to look for a solution but to no dice. Otherwise, it's a great Metroid PA and I hope other people adapt the new frame and design.

I'm not familiar with the mod or mesh, but it should be relatively easy to fix the gap yourself with Outfit Studio (part of bodyslide, which you might have installed). A simpler solution might be wearing a dark colored body suit beneath the armor to hide the gap that way. If the suit is setup such that it takes up the under armor body slot, you could load that bodysuit in outfit studio, export the bodysuit's mesh, then export that mesh into Viral Armor to combine the meshes letting the body suit fill the gap. That's a bit quicker and simpler than manually moving vertices.
