ErrantPursuits
So, I decided to reinstall Skyrim and went around updating my old mods. While sorting out load order and trimming out the obsolete patches I realized that a number of mods still reference the older Unofficial line of patches. Many mods are circa 2013-2015 and are rarely looked at or updated by the original authors. Is there any solution to provide compatibility backwards for them? I'd really rather not continue using the separate and no longer supported Unofficial Skyrim, Dragonborn, Dawnguard, Hearthfire patches going forward if I don't have to. I know that TS5Edit could be involved, but I'm just not that educated on the structure of mods and how to shift references from inside one to point to a new master. I would definitely screw it up and break things. Has anyone looked into this? Any suggestions or ideas out there?
amakachao
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/71316/? I don't know anything about modding really. I didn't couldn't tell you what an esm or an esp or a bsa EVEN IS. BUT If you follow these instructions slowly and carefully you will have success. Turns out most of my mods didn't even use USKP and the one that did use USKP (not updated since 2014) didn't give me any hassles when I followed the instructions TO A TEE. I would back up your saves and mods and data (basically everything you have that makes your current game work with the USKP patches) before doing it. But I didn't have to go back to my backup, everything went off beautifully.
Katy420
Yeah don't worry about anything, the script is safe and switching out the changes is harmless. It's easy and awesome 1 click goodness.
