New XCOM 2 Sub-Forums and a Request for Wiki Support

Recommended Posts

We're pleased to announce the launch of several new sub-forums to discuss various aspects of XCOM 2:

XCOM 2 Spoilers

XCOM 2 Technical Support

XCOM 2 Mod Talk

XCOM 2 Mod Troubleshooting

XCOM 2 Mod Requests

Please ensure that new topics are posted in the correct place, thanks! Additionally, we'll likely be moving existing topics to one of the new sub-forums when appropriate.

Moving forward, we'd like to help support new modders coming to XCOM 2. In the past, Nexus members put together the invaluable XCOM:EU modding FAQ and we're hoping we can do it again! I've created a bit of a skeleton that can be used as a template, but feel free to edit it as you see fit: http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/XCOM_2_Modding_FAQ

Simply click one of the edit buttons and start typing. For those of you that may be new to formatting a wiki don't worry, it's really simple. More info can be found at the MediaWiki Formatting page. Your contributions don't have to be perfectly formed as I'll happily clean up the page, but the information contained should be concise and easily digested by newcomers if possible.

Your contributions as a community will surely go a long way towards the creation of great new mods. So, thank you so much for your support and enjoy the new forums!

Just to compound on what SirSalami has said, as most of you know, we hosted a lot of the modding wiki stuff over here. We'd be happy to work with people again to do the same for XCOM 2 (rather than just having a single page on the Wiki!).

Are you still moving active threads about modding, into the modding forum? Now is a critical time to "train" new posters. Otherwise half the modding posts will wind up here and people will post even more duplicate threads. Here are a couple of good candidates to move.

http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/3800435-making-downloadablecontentinfo-add-content-once-only/

http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/3767350-project-geoscapps/

http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/3799455-changing-update-via-uiscreenlistener/

Basically if there is a code function name or reference to ModBuddy in the subject, it is a good candidate to move.

Thanks for setting up the subforums! I find nexus a much better place to get modding information than steam community or reddit.
