Error "This page can't be displayed" when logging in on IE10 (Windows 7)

I had this issue recently and since I couldn't find the solution in the forum, I post it here for the next poor guy in my situation:

Error "This page can't be displayed" when logging in on IE10 (Windows 7) and when trying to register.

The displayed help mentioned TLS should be enabled, but it did not say that it needs to be TLS 1.2.

So if you have this issue and the hints from http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/17080-having-problems-logging-in/ (which is locked) do not help, go Internet Options > Advanced and make sure to check "Use TLS 1.2"

(or use Google Chrome, like I did, to get registered)
