I am completely unable to mod my fallout 4. It all started when i installed fallout 4 from steam after buying the game physically and got a nice lil poster. Everything worked fine on my new 3.8ghz quad core with turbo and GTX 960 graphics which is capable of running any game at 1080p on its highest settings.

So then I went through the game, murdering innocents and purging life, when all of a sudden it turned out I had to make a choice. Sooo I chose instute and decided to save humanity. Afterall when humanity is safe underground it will wish to push up to the surface with is OP technology.

So then [input denied for reason: Major Spoiler] happened, and i got the cute lil cutscene at the end, then decided to mod it.

So I used my googlejitsu ... goojitsu i think... to go on nexus and find the mod which expands some of your settlements. I clicked download manually, as there was no other option and extracted to here with winrar. Then it came up with the four .esp s and a readme. The readme read: Installation:
Copy the file you wish to use to your Fallout 4\Data folder

Go to: C:\Users\Username\Appdata\Local\Fallout4\

Right click plugins and un-check Read-Only

Open it, and add the file you wish to use
ExpandedSettlementAll.esp [Expands Width / Height, but does not edit Food/Water]
ExpandedSettlementHeight.esp [Expands Height, but does not edit Food/Water]
ExpandedSettlementFWAll.esp [Expands Width / Heigh, Food/Water can be built anywhere]
ExpandedSettlementFWHeight.esp [Expands Height, Food/Water can be built anywhere]

Once you have added the mod you wish to use, Save and close

Right click, go to properties, and re-check Read Only

That's it you're finished have fun with your massive settlements!!

Remember if you enjoyed this mod to go back to Nexus and Endorse it, Thank you!!

So i thought "amazin :D".

I choose the top one and thought "right what do i do with this?".

welll...

it turns out all tutorials i can find require me to change some files like that Fallout4Prefs

and i was missing Fallout4Custom.ini... and the Plugins file which im supposed to change to notreadonly. I swear it must be windows 10, as i cant seem to a. find normal appdata, and b. when i reach its equivilent unless i go through a link to a games appdata file from a game there are no files [NOTE TO SELF: must try using that exact backdoor and then go up the files to see if i can reach the fallout 4 (if it exsists - idk im not used to my computer stopping me from doing stuff) :) )

so i installed two seperate things that were meant to automatically do this stuff, the first didnt work, and another one was this oneclick thing that should automatically do it all. It said installing the files and then said its done...

Yet it still DIDNT WORK....

:/

what the flying fluff....

I tried selecting the whole folder and changing all its files, subfolders and their contents etc. to notreadonly, but it hasnt changed a thing not even on the autoinstallers which claim to give me links to said missing files that i can open yet when i look manually DONT EXIST

even nexus mod manager wont work!!
