"Learning Curve" Pilot for a short series in Fallout 4

I don't think I'll put out the next for a bit as I got some other projects to put out beforehand. I tried avoiding the "shot reverse-shot" RvB-inspired shows that put me to sleep. I approached this like I would my job or any other live action show with film-making principles (for camerawork and editing).

It's hard to compete with instant gratification media on the internet for attention. Even worse, to me this video was "short." Maybe it's more about trimming the fat? I detest resorting to memes or easy jokes. (to me a meme in a video = "did I do that?" from Urkel). May be better to put that to bed. This didn't have any flying ponies or inappropriate imagery to give it that edge, or something to set it apart. Thanks for the reply! I'll keep working on my thinking about it.

The camera work is good, it's the meat of the story or lack of it rather that is what's keeping it from perking my interest. From a technical stand point everything is fine, but what do I know, I havent done film or editing in over a decade.

Good point. There's nothing very punchy, just some setup-payoff... I'm sure there's a good middle between the technical end and the writing humor I can achieve. I always seem to favor one for the other (but the brash/over-the-top humor gets the views, for certain).

Hey, principles of editing are still the same if you ever get back into it. It's just faster because it ain't on tapes!

Still on Final Cut and Avid for big comapnies. Adobe is probably taking over with the next generation though. Workflow is superb in it (export to audition/after effects within project)
