So, I'll have to tell you a story in order to present my idea. I'm a PS4 player and I am attempting to get the "Benevolent Leader" achievement. I'm building masses of level 3 clothing stores in order to achieve this, but I can't get enough caps. I had a plan to go from Diamond City on a journey to Sanctuary hills, looting EVERYTHING as I went along. I was planning to sell my loot to the pre-existing shops in my settlement for caps. As I was travelling, I hacked a protectron to help me fend off some enemies; during this he followed me all the way, even into different cells! He had lost the plating on his right arm and right leg during combat and was forced to limp through the journey. Once I had reached Red Rocket, he was nowhere to be seen. I stood atop the hill and looked around with a sniper scope. After a minute, I turned around to find the determined little guy was still following me. I led him to my garage and shut him down to keep him out of harms way. It was time for the true test of faith; would he despawn? I did everything I could to see; I slept, I fast-travelled and I entered different cells. Every time I came back, I saw him still powered-down in my garage. I knew, he was in it for the long haul. With the release of the Automatron DLC, I had the idea to try and turn him into an Automatron companion. I have yet to purchase the season pass, so
I took to the Internet to find out whether or not you could modify hacked robots. To my dismay, the answer was no; I was heartbroken. This is why I reach out to you, the modding community, to help me achieve my dream of modifying my hacked robot into an Automatron companion. As I said, I am a PS4 player, so it would be much obliged if you could also make a version for the GECK if this mod is to be made. Thank you and if you have any ideas for the name of my courageous friend, please tell me.

You can't put mods on Ps4...yet.And no one knows how it'll turn out.

For now,you could rebuild him.Use the stuff you loot off of him to create a 2.0 of him.

Also,I'd call him Mr.Trusty.You could even give him a Mr.Handy torso.Believe me,with the right modding a mister handy can look f***ing badass.

I like that idea; it's just, I'm hesitant to kill the poor guy for his parts...

Anyway, I agree with the Mr. Handy thing. I love how stumpy it makes them!

No,I made a Mister Handy with Assaultron Legs,Hydraulic plates all the way through, one eye and black paint. He really looks like a dangerous killing machine. If needed,I can list the specific parts.

You could look at killing him as putting him out of his "misery".You could also take him with you into the river, and tell him to self-destruct there, kinda like a Viking burial. You also could just leave him deactivated, roleplaying you took everything that made him who he was,and putting it inside his new body.

That's the most rad thing I've heard all week. What did you use for arms and weapons? I'd love to see it.

Yeah, I could do that. Also, I could do that Viking Burial idea and just use those scrapped parts to bring him into a new body.

Thanks for the ideas! Mr. Trusty actually seems like an awesome name for something so determined.

Mister Handy Torso (all decked out in Hydraulic) with one eye, which is the last in the list,Assaultron legs and Arms, also decked out in Hydraulic and lastly black paint.Weapon of your choice.Because the theme I was going for was a stealthy recon drone,(and I called the bot a "reconnoitron") I gave him a stealth blade in the left hand and a sniper laser in the right.I recommend a shishkebab and a ranged weapon of some sorts (I'd take a laser to keep him close to his protectron roots).

Heh, "Reconoitron"; I like it.

I see, that would look awesome. Thank you for all of these suggestions!

Don't worry, I've already maxed out all perks which I require for certain parts and have a lot of junk. If I need more, I know where to find it.

I don't think this is possible. The automatron & vanilla robots are two different npcs. You could modify all the vanilla robots to be the automatron robots, but I am not sure if this will break things.
