Settlers produce upgrades on vanilla workbenches

Unassigned Settlers will sometimes work at workstations like armory workstation, weapon workstation, cooking station etc.

But they are producing nothing.

I consider, that if a settler on a armory workbench with an bad pipe gun tries to improve that gun^^. but its just idling animation without revenue.

And i used many hours to collect and process and improve armours for 2 fortified settlements... its a boring job, and there are over 20 settlements? i am tired of this s*** :D

what if...?
a settler assigned to a armour workbench provides upgrades to settler armours? maybe an upgrade a day for one settler? f.e. a settler in normal clothes gets an upgrade to leather armour. if a settler with an leather armour gets an upgrade, the leather armour will upgrade till 3rd level. here is finish.

if you want a settler (f.e. a guard) to wear better armour class than leather, equip them a unmodded combat armour. the settler working on armoury bench will gradially work to get also those on a stage 3 fully modded combat armour, same for metal and synth. it would look unrealistic, if the armours of all settlers would steadily upgrade to synth armour... thats the reason why settlers should not upgrade the armour classes, but should upgrade the armour pieces themselves.

 

a settler on a weapons workbench improves all settlers weaponrys? for one settler a day? there should be some different upgrade paths. a pipe revolver armed settler will get an old world revolver, then a modded revolver, then in his next upgrade a bolt action sniper, and then a modded sniper?

a pipe rifle armed one will get a modded pipe rifle, then a battle rifle, and in next upgrades a better modded battle rifle?

automatic pipe gun -> submachine gun -> 5.56mm machine gun?

you can fast the process up, by giving the settlers all the unmodded combat rifles, machine guns etc you loot, then you spare the pipe rifle upgrades.

a assigned cook could provide settlers and player with fine meals, for better happiness and some income?

a chemist could provide settlement and settlers with stimpaks, drugs and radawy and some hapiness?

a settler working on power armour station could repair power armours in settlement, and improve existing ones. if there are none, he has a slight chance of creating a frame and slowly equip it with low end parts.

 

this may be interesting on survival plays, where settlers can die in battle (now they have stimpaks, and food to cure themselves, and better survival chance because of better equip), and spares a lot of time in all playthroughs, and is balanced, cause you need to assigne a settler, which is now not working on an other workplace.

Sound like what kinda looking for. A mod that would make settlers be able produces various items if they assign to a work bench. For example if assign to first weapon smite bench a settler have change making any various pipe weapons and even some low end normal weapons. Then it get added into workshop innovatory for you to equip,sell or use for yourself.
