The Thread You Never Thought You'd See

I have been toiling for months on my Magnus Opus, in solitude. Now, I feel, the time is right to reveal my plans to the world (i.e. both people who care). This is both because I feel I am now closer to the end than the beginning, and because it is getting feature-creeped to death and I am getting bogged down in it and could use some freshness.

What does it got-

New town: check

New worldspace(s): check

New armors and clothing: check

New weapons: check

New factions: check

New followers: check

Including one that's a hologram who comes with her own holo-holo-rifle and a portable holo-emitter so she can follow where you go : check

A runaway replicant: check

An arena you can bet at or fight in: check

A new caravan: check

A network of caves full of primitive creatures: check

A market where you can buy anything including slaves: check

It is a wretched hive of scum and villainy:

Bounty Hunters you can fight, help, or mediate: check

Numerous episodes of existential angst, including "What does it mean to be human?" and "I think therefore I am.. right?": check

Reuniting with old friends: check

Even if they don't want to see you: check

An overarching narrative: check

Consequences at the end for choices you make in the beginning: check

Failing scenario(s): check

Huge end battle: check

What it doesn't got-

A long lost bunker full of super-high tech that the residents could easily use to take over the Mojave, but instead is just waiting for you to loot. 'Cuz there are about a million mods like that, who needs one more?

Oh, wait, it does have that. But not like you're thinking.

This mod is both a literal and spiritual successor to The Librarian - Orion's Gate, more specifically the Market Comes Alive addon for that mod. Some of the characters' stories from that mod are continued. Neither of those mods are required in order to play this one, although it provides some background and couldn't hurt. So if you really wanted that chick with the tail to join your adventures you may yet get your wish.

Setting-

In Crescent Canyon East, there is a town made out of junk right up the side of the cliff. Buildings are reached by bridges and stairs. Think post-apocalyptic pueblo, tentatively named Skunkwater Gulch. Everyone in it is a bit odd... Oh and this whole thing will be rife with Futurama references, I can't help it. At first it seems normal enough, and they need help with simple, everyday things like helping the zombie guard his gecko pens, helping the malfunctioning robobrain get its original body back, and helping the alcoholic alien get his hands on the good stuff. Then it gets weird.

I welcome your feedback, though it probably won't change much, and I welcome your ideas, though I probably won't use them. I welcome offers of help, if you are willing. As long as you are not offering ideas and feedback :)

When will it be done? I don't' know! Probably not before all the DLCs are out, mostly so some lore doesn't get dropped on my ass and make me change anything after the fact. I would guess I am about 65% done with what I have listed above.

Sorry for the rooster tease but I know you love it.

The Professor's Rogue Gate:

You must have a certain device in hand for it to work, or else find another way to the destination...

The Wheelminder

He is a mysterious fellow who is intertwined with the gates. I will probably give him a shirt:

This looks very cool.

The arena caught my eye, any more details maybe? I'm in the middle of setting up an arena, where you can choose which combatants to fight (humans & creatures).

The betting on it aspect I've been thinking about because the combatants vary in level so the odds must adjust to be fair.

How long have you been at this?

Uh... December, off and on?

It is run by some underworld types, like the rest of the market. It's name: Plaza Violencia.

I am thinking the opponents will be random to save me from all the math.

I haven't worked out the mechanics of that yet. But I want it to be Thunderdomish, where there are random weapons, etc.

Is the guitar playable? You wrote some rocking blues tunes to go with it on activate?!

Or is it just really the coolest looking death dealing "axe" in the wasteland??!

Or both?!!

:D
