Hi, so I've recently noticed this wierd bug/glitch with NPC weapons in my game.
Things like 10mm pistols, double barrel shotguns and gauss rifles are appearing on npcs in pieces for lack of a better explanation.
On a gauss rifle, when given to a companion, the shielded barrel isn't located correctly - it's located off to the side and backwards of where it should be.

Similar happens with shotguns, the barrel is disjointed from the handle, and the same occurs for the 10mm pistol - its magazine appears outside the handle.

 

I've only noticed it on these weapons so far.
Has anyone else experienced this and know the cause or of a fix? I've only been able to find one person who mentioned the gauss rifle on the steam forum, but they didn't get any responses.
I am running mods, but none that I'd expect to bug out vanilla weapons or attachments.

 

Help would be much appreciated.

Having played some more since noticing it, I've realised that:

- It only happens to the weapons of dead NPCs

- It happens to hunting rifles and other weapons as well

- Preston wasn't dead when the gauss rifle glitched, so don't know what the go is there. Haven't seen any Railroad heavies with one yet so can't check for them.

- I don't know at what stage this actually started. It could have been happening for a while before I noticed.

 

It's sort of comforting I'm not the only one though lol.

It's hardly game-breaking, but I'd like to get it sorted.

I've seen this as well, but what I haven't done is picked one up and equipped it to see if it's still bugged.

 

It's mostly a 10mm pistol in someone's hand after they die. I do have a 10mm replacer, *but* I think I noticed a rifle or shotgun like this recently, so it may be a separate issue.

Alright after some trial i turn off the Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch mod and my problem is gone. I think the problem come from a change in the dropping weapon script.

Did a clean install and the shielded barrel is still misplaced ( I have disabled all mods ) 

Someone? Anyone? found a way to fix this yet?  

Having same Issue recently. I don't use Unofficial FO4 patch.

Also, it is not only NPC weapons but currently the combat rifle I have equipped. Multiple reloads hasn't fixed it like the Black face bug. I am working on a large patch atm and am constantly loading one save point of my game to test things, So its possible its something Ive changed, but if anyone knows right off the bat why this is caused I would appreciate it.

yeahh i have the same probleme here  its been 3 days im searching for a fix --'   someone foud a solution ?? i tried disabling  unofficial fallout 4 patch but without success..

Gauss rifle and 10mm distortion in npc hands is a well known vanilla bug, I believe it's some nif file issue.
