Making a female qunari in DA:O

Just drop by to see how it goes.

progress has been slow. parlty because of my current cold, and partly my work on Kirkwall exports. What I have done since the last time is making her chin seem less pointy, made the horns part of the skull, and finally the UW map (I removed the triangles and replaced them with squares since I thought it made it a lot easier to work with. The old UW map was oblviously destroyed in that process though, which is why I made a new one).

So what I have left is essantially this:

Texture it, export it, and figure out how to add any NPCs at all into a scene with the toolset :P

You know, I have been wondering about this.

And then I remember sten, and then I went like :

- Hmmm... I wonder if amycus can export those flemeth horn , retex it a bit and put it to sten's head.

- Would that make sten looks like this?

Just wondering ^_^.

Flemeth as a female qunari

@edriano, if you just want sten with horns, it would be a lot easier to simply port the whole DA2 qunari heads to DA:O. Of course, there is the problem with the helmets fitting when they have horns, unless you dont mind them clipping, or magically dissappear when they wear a helmet.

And just to point out, the old pic on the female qunari I'm working on here in this thread had horns that I simply copy pasted from the DA2 male qunaris because I originally toyed with a similar idea to yours abouth flemeth's "hairstyle". Problem is, it would look like the horns were glued on or something. If you look on the arishok above, his horns are partly covered by skin. I wish to achieve the same effect which is why I remade the horns as a part of the facial mesh. I will put a new preview pic to show you exactly what I mean once I get better and have more time.

Ok then, sorry if it seems I am nagging, it is just this is actually something I really looking forward to.

What about the facial animation?

sorry for the late reply - I'm currently overseas to visit the family, and my laptop broke during the flight. Currently writing this while on an internet-caf'e.I've been thinking of the facial animation, which is the reason why I'm not messing around too much with the eye and mouth areas. I'm of course not 100% sure that it will actually work until I tet it, but when I import the skeleton to max, I see a huge mess of smaller objects around the area of the head named like "left eye", "left eyelid" and so on, so I THINK that it should work as long as these are in the right places.

And as far as I know, all the animations work the same for all races and genders without any additional effort - though I might have to ask those who have prior experience with custom weapon animations if I encounter any problems.

That being said, this project is pretty much on hold until I have finished the other mods that I already have uploaded.

I did that. I just took Morrigan's mother, Flemeth, and the head with the chargencompiler and built one from scratch. Easy as pie. Takes a couple of hours, but easy to do. You can even make a race that way. Friend of mine made a joke mod and made the qunari keep butting heads all the time, instead of looking so serious.

Now with the female qunari, after using Flemeth's head, you can add any pretty face your heart's desire to it. He added Bethany's face to it once to see how it would turn out. Still had the same body style as she normally have, but the head of a female qunari. Very petite female qunari also, but one not to be trifled with. Worked out pretty nice too. Try it once. All you need are a couple of mods and you can go from there to making your own race of female qunari women.

Now if you get the mods that allow you to look like qunari using head parts, ask before utilizing them in your own mod. (Of course, that's common sense) Also, if you have the know how to build an armor strictly for a female qunari, that would be a good idea also. This would be good for both DAO and DA 2. But, I'm getting ahead of myself, aren't I?

I wish you good luck and please let me know how it turns out.

edriano, you have to understand that Sten was a hybrid. That's why he walked away from the Qun in DAO. He was mostly qunari, but there was something else about him that wasn't. He wasn't as part of the "Collective" as all his others were. He even admitted it to the Hero of Ferelden after he got to know him/her better into the story line.
