Collecting, crafting, hunting on demand

My idea for a mod adds an occupation primarily aimed at players who want to keep busy when not following the story lines.

It could also be useful for players who have completed all story lines and are now looking for more things to do in Skyrim.

It starts with a house, where a merchant lives. The difference between other merchants is that he doesn't just sell or buy goods.

Instead, this merchant issues orders for his clients. This means that at all times, he has lists of items that his clients have ordered. It is then up to you as a player to go and find/collect/create these things for the merchant and deliver them. Making a successful delivery is then compensated with a reward (gold)

The list of orders would auto-fill. Every time any order has been delivered, a new random order is added. You are never required to get all orders before being able to choose new ones.

How many embalment tools, pickaxes, linen wraps, tankards and other junk has everyone ignored until now because they were just that: junk?

One of the main reasons why this could be interesting is that now, suddenly every mundane or uninteresting object can become a collectible.

A possible implementation of this is with order lists. The merchant issues these lists to you.

List #1 contains easy-to-find orders in reasonable quantities.

List #2 contains orders with both harder-to-get items as well and easy-to-get items in higher quantities

List #3 then makes it really challenging with orders that have very specific high-level requests or very high quantities

You can find an example of how this could work in the attached image

The lists would be so that when an order has been successfully delivered, it is removed from the list and a new order appears in it. This would allow the player to choose which order they want to go for, and ignore tedious ones they don't feel like.

I am very aware that my idea is no better than other ideas for mod requests, and I have pinpointed some weak spots in mine that have to be addressed before potential subscribers would be enthusiastic

- A delivered order rewards you with gold. Is that interesting for many players? Are most players interested in earning more gold?

- The idea with the order lists can only works if there is a really large source of items, from which the mod randomly selects items to put on each list.

(however I would gladly contribute to this)

Any ideas, thoughts, comments are very welcome!
