Nexus Mod support request for console

Greetings Nexus guru's,

This was originally intended to be a personal message to one of the most popular mods on Nexus, however when I realized that one of the authors (nsk13 being not active since April) and the chance of it being seen as spam, it made me change my mind and make a thread about it. This is not just to one particular mod, but to all of you guys.

First of all I want to say thanks for putting so much effort in creating mods for pc, you're all honestly doing a great job and I love all the work here. Now I really don't mean to bother y'all, I think this mod theft thing is getting out of hand and I see you guys as mod authors taking a great stand.

To get to the point, I have a request you can probably guess it and you've all probably been asked multiple times, but I think it's worth the shot.

What would you guys think of bringing your awesome work to Bethesda.net, so us console players could enjoy it just as much as the pc community has enjoyed them!

If you guys could make this happen this would mean a lot to me and many other console peasants that were looking forward to these incredible mods. I hope this doesn't come forward as a beg, I really don't mean to beg for it, I just mean to ask y'all once ^-^

As you can probably tell a lot of the mods are working but could use tweaks and we don't want some thefted mods we want mods from the original author. By the way I've already seen a few legit Nexus mods on Bethesda.net and I can't even express with words of how grateful I am for that ( for example: Ponytails by Azar) <3.

Just a day or two ago someone uploaded the very popular Slooty Courser X-92 Power Suit (has been taken down) and credited the authors for their work. He/She however wasn't permitted to do so. Even then it showed how much it is requested (35K views and 5K favourites in just a couple hours, is quite amazing). But it's you guys who deserve the recognition for it and I'd love to use a legit copy of such mods instead of one that hasn't even asked permission.

Again I really sympathize with you guys having to deal with all the mod theft, things so I decided to ask politely see if I can understand the situation better you know. In the end it's your decision whether you want to bring it out or not even so when it might feel discriminating towards us console players, we have to deal with it because the mods were made for free anyways, and are already as time consuming as it is now. It's all good if you say no, it's even good if you don't want to explain as to why not. Thanks for reading anyway and taking effort to creating mods in the first place.

Have a very nice day guys, if there's anything I can help you guys with or if you need any more information don't hesitate to ask (I could even be your little tester and provide pictures). Would you need permission from other authors, I'd gladly help and send it to them.

Here's the thread where me and PhillKillis are raising awareness about this topics and how we really want to get more Nexusmods to console, we want to show you how much the community loves these mods!

Nexus mod support

P.S. I am new here and English is not my native language I hope you all understand, also if this has already been asked, I want to let you guys know that this is slightly different. I'm just putting it here on behalf of most console players, to show you all that we value your work!

Best Regards,

Syntensity

Nice post, but pretty sure the answer is a resounding NO. In fact, I'm not sure if it is even possible for anyone BUT Bethesda.net to host mods for consoles due to the CK requirements to upload them (if I am incorrect you can bet I will be corrected shortly). While I don't hold any vitriol towards console users, I believe Beth made sure it could be the only game in town to support them....and I somehow think that is just fine with The Nexus.

Thanks for your polite answer, I guess it's a bit vague but I didn't mean to change the host from Bethesda to Nexus. I just ment to request Nexus Mods to be put on Bethesda so console users can use them aswell. (Of course if the author wants to).

But yeah if Nexus was going to be put as host aswell, it would be so much better, I think Bethesda won't allow that anyway.

Hello Nexus community.

First allow me to APOLOGIZE for any wrong doing and hard feelings that you have have accumulated over the past couple of days as Xbox was brought into the wonder world of Modding. You all have been violated. And it. Is. WRONG. I apologize that your content was stolen REPETITIVELY without permission. That kind of thing should never happen to anyone! And I may not speak for everyone, but for a good majority, we are sorry.

With that being said,

Syntensity (Sini on Bethesda.Net) and I have been pulling as much support as we can for the Nexus, Original Mod Authors and New Original Content.

As you can see, we do have a Forum on Betheda.Net, just asking for others to come and show their support. New and Veteran Authors alike to come and express your feelings about the new way of things. What you would like to see, what we as a community could do to make ourselves not so much YOUR problem or a problem at all. How we could benefit everyone. We would love to see Harmony between All Modders and Gamers alike.

So please, take the time to read through some of our comments and if you do feel like you want to say No, then that is ABSOLUTELY PERFECTLY OKAY!! We are not here to spam, beg or irritate. We just would like to ask one time to everyone at once instead of sending a million emails to everyone, which would look very much like spam.

Feel free to take a look at our Forum page

Leave a comment or not! Thats okay! All are welcome.

And lastly but most importantly. THANK YOU! For all your creativity and time spent creating new and original content. We just wanna be able to appreciate the amazingness that is you all :D

don't feel bad if you get a drubbing hard atm
over time this will be a valuable initiative somehow or other, that much I'm sure about
although I've got no clue how lol
I've been linking to this post, because it's an explanation of an idea of mine for dealing with various issues

so I've actually got a question for you
how would you feel if this were done, it would take away the ability for consoles have the free for all modding thing that PC users have, but it'd enable PC user oriented mods to mostly be used on consoles via popularity etc, and there'd be a quality control sort of thing through this, and it'd tend to avoid microtransaction nonsense

Do you mean that only certain people would be able to mod? Or the mods would be limited to the public and who could download them? Im just wanting to make sure I understand your question entirely.

It's not an issue with consoles per say (at least not for me), it's an issue with beth.net. As @Crimsonhawk87 stated, in order to upload to consoles you have to upload to beth.net and a lot of authors aren't very comfortable uploading there because of the complete lack of policing stolen mods.

Kudos to you for doing this everyone involved.

This is how adults do things.

Well said.

Lol I knew all that "Growing up" and "Acting like an adult" would eventually pay off haha. But in all sincerity, thank you to you too. For just showing support!

@XX4HorsemenXX , I agree. Bethesda.Net NEEDS to do something to prevent anyone from just grabbing the goods and running with it as if it were their own. Some kinda of Author check or Authorization needs to be in place.

I don't know how'd I feel, I can't mimic the same situation. Popularity and quality control would seem like reasonable solutions to me, however that is something that only Bethesda could make happen.
