Thalmor? How do you feel?

So it is pretty much known that the Thalmor are planning on taking over the Empire and I, as well as everyone I know, hate the Thalmor and the Dominion and believe that they will be an Antagonist in a future Elder Scrolls game, however it being an Elder Scrolls game there might be a way to side with them, which got me wondering. Would a decision like that be pointless?

Are there any Elder Scrolls fans that believe the Thalmor should be in control of Tamriel?

If so explain why.

I believe that the Empire should rule over Tamriel. However, it does seem like a Aldmeri victory is more likely. I don't favor the Aldmeri Dominion over the Empire - but with the current state of the Empire and the fans (seemingly) leaning towards the Stormcloaks winning the Civil War in Skyrim, as said earlier, the Aldmeri Dominion will likely win. Which is sad because I am quite the fan of the Imperials and the Empire as a whole. It could make for an interesting game though, fighting the Aldmeri Dominion as a sort of resistance in one of the other provinces of Tamriel.

If Thalmor are even feautured at all in TESVI, who's to say 100% that they are going to be main villain in 6? Knowing how BUGthesda thinks & acts, i wouldn't be suprised if they simply shove them aside in a favor of a new evil. After all, the plot in game is prolly going to keep it's tradion & begin the new plot after 200+ years or maybe little less following the events in Skyrim. During those years, maybe the Thalmor simply vanished in a thin air like a Psychic Order i wouldn't get my hopes up to see them in TESVI but it would be nice to have a chance to kick their butts & have an option to join them instead of killing them off. Just like the concept of Dawnguard DLC.

Theres actually a couple mods that try to let you join the Thalmor, and serve on their side. I dont kinow the status of them; Ive been working most the year on a major overhaul mod. But just type "Thalmor" into the search on the frontpage of the Nexus. It only kicks up about 12 pages or so. Easy to go through to find the mods Im talking about.

The Thalmor have no interest in taking over the Empire. Their overarching goal is to return things to the way they were before Lorkhan "tricked" some of the Aedra into creating Mundus. They want to destroy creation. I have no doubt they will appear in the next installment of TES, if not as the main antagonist, at least as a party to it. In the grand scheme of things, the outcome of Skyrim's civil war is irrelevant; the Thalmor only benefit from it's continuation as it keeps the Imperial Army occupied.

I'd rather they all fall after the second great war, preferably with the stormcloaks long dead. After they fall the entire political landmass changes. Morrowind now powerful invades a weakened skyrim due to mistreatment of Dunmer, Lhotunics taking over northern Hammerfell with forebears turning into republics and city-states, Cyrodiil turns into a collection of guild-held lands and minor duchies, Direnni take back western High Rock with a Reachmen-Orsimer alliance taking over eastern High Rock and western skyrim, the Altmer are plunged into a new dark age with southern Altmeri controlled areas falling to the Maormer Edited by CiderMuffin

Marlin the High elf does not like the Thalmor. At all.

Marlin the person comes from the nazi epicenter of Sweden, and thus feels a bit uncomfortably at home. At least in game I can put some whoopass their way.

And it's fun with proper, badass evil enemies.

Assuming that the Thalmor still exists in the next game, it very unlikely that you'd be able to side with them. There is little benefit for most elves and no benefit to non-elves from joining. Besides, nobody outside the Thalmor likes the Thalmor. Even the High Elves hate the Thalmor from what I understand.

there has been a time jump between "era"'s in each Elder scrolls game since morrowind so the problems of the current empire will not be the same in the TES6

EDIT: should have said it is unlikely that the problems of the current...
