Resurrection - What happened?

It's too bad really/ Resurrection was great, was really looking forward to the other flavors of it. It just sucks that this has happened twice now with his/her first mod being Divine Revelation, and now Resurrection to follow up. The mod author has a really great vision, and I hope they find some way to complete that vision in a way that doesn't result in a "third" ban or stepping on toes

The Nexus COULD create an open-source licence for mods, and encourage all mods hosted her to use it. And NO, this is NOT impossible because of Bethesda, since it is perfectly LEGAL for programs to distribute under two co-existent licenses.

Mod authors can already use any open source license they prefer, and many do take advantage of that built in feature. Why would we want to reinvent the wheel by trying to force mod authors to use yet another license when so many good ones are already available?

The open-source movement could never have originated in Britain. And this is why there is ZERO encouragement of the values of open-source development on the Nexus.

As for Nexus embracing open source, do you realize that the only actual Nexus product we have, NMM is open source under a GPL license? And the source code is FREE to download if you would like to contribute.

Here is a link to our Sourceforge page where the development takes place: https://sourceforge.net/p/nexusmodmanager/home/Home/

I don't understand how you can argue FOR this site to allow stealing of other people's work. There's a huge difference between sharing work and just plain stealing without permission. Is it really so hard to send someone a message and politely ask to use something they made? Most of the time the original author will probably say yes if you're not a dick. Amazingly, even if he says no, you can still put that original file as a required file for your mod, and probably save yourself a lot of time in the end.

I don't care if you're English, American, Australian or whatever, it doesn't matter, it's just basic human decency.

welp, he stole 2MB of tree bark and moss textures from a free mod. banning him with no warning and removing a mod, of which they were a small part, used by thousands of people is clearly the best course of action.

this is the digital equivalent of summary execution as punishment for stealing a candy bar

A) He stole content, period. Whether it was 10 gb or 10 bytes makes no matter, he should've gotten permission like everyone else.

B) This was far from his first time. And doubt it would've been his last.

C) As suggested, read the ToS. Zero tolerance for theft, pirating, etc.

I am guessing if it was a first offense and he changed it / apologized, would probably have been able to come back. But this is just what he does.
