When I first played the game I noticed a lot of nods to the war of independence. This wasn't a surprises as most people know that Boston is where the war started. However I feel Bethesda missed out an opportunity by not having a faction related to the British. So without further or do here is the outline of the story with each quest having a title and a detailed analysis of each one. If anyone is interested in bringing this to life I have further material on the characters stories, personalties and some rough ideas on how it could look. Thank you for your time and enjoy!

Fallout 4: We the People

An Unexpected Arrival

The Quest starts by talking to Captain Michael Jefferson of the Minutemen, at the Castle. Jefferson informs you of a strange radio frequency coming from an area just outside of Salem. You Journey to the source of the frequency, and discover a small military camp. There are Soldiers wearing Red T-60 Power Armour, one of these soldiers approaches you as you get closer to the camp. Private Jones questions you as to your reason for being here, if you answer the questions correctly he will take you to his commanding officer Major George Middleton.

The Sun Never Set

Middleton is clad in red X-01 Power Armour. You ask Middleton questions and he explains that he is the commanding officer of an Expeditionary force from the Kingdom of Britannia (Remnants of the UK), informing the player that he has been tasked with retrieving anything of value and bringing it home. Middleton asks the player for a favour, one of his Sargent’s has gone rouge and has taken several important documents that will help Middleton and his men on their mission. The player will then investigate Sargent Patrick Montgomery’s quarters and try and find clues to his location. Once the player has found a map of Boston, the player will head to Listening Post Bravo. The player will then confront Montgomery and has the option to either kill him or convince him to return to the camp. If the player is successful in convincing Montgomery to return to camp, the player will travel with him and then talk to Middleton, who thanks the player and executes Montgomery. Middleton reveals his true mission that he was leading the recon forces for a British invasion, and that Montgomery was going to warn the Commonwealth of the impending attack. If the player kills Montgomery they will loot the documents from his body and discover Middleton’s true mission of taking the Commonwealth, and then confront Middleton. The player must then escape the camp and return to the Castle. The player then informs Captain Jefferson of what they have discovered.

Two If By Sea

The player is then sent to Nordhagen Beach near Fort Strong, where British forces are currently landing and setting up camp. The player arrives to find the Minutemen attacking British forces but suffering heavy loses. The player talks to Captain Jefferson who tasks you with killing the commanding officer Captain Wellington. Once the player has found Wellington who is located inside Fort Strong, the player returns to Captain Jefferson and what remains of the Minutemen. Jefferson informs the player that British forces are attacking Lexington and that you must head there immediately.

Battle of Lexington

The player arrives at Lexington and find the town under siege by British forces, the Minutemen are heavily outnumbered and out gunned. The player helps the Minutemen hold of British forces but eventually the town is overwhelmed and the Minutemen are sent into retreat. The player then receives and distress call from Concord where British forces are also attacking.

Fall of Concord

The player arrives in Concord to find the British assaulting the Museum of Freedom. The player must fight their way into the museum where major Minutemen leaders are hold up. Once the player has made their way into the Museum, the player is confronted by Major Middleton and his men who have the Minutemen leadership as hostages. The player tries to convince Middleton to end the bloodshed and let the leadership go. However, Middleton refuses to listen and executes Captain Jefferson. Middleton leaves and the player must save the rest of the leadership. Once the last British soldier is killed, the player talks to Colonel Washington who informs the player that Middleton is heading for the Massachusetts State House and intend to make it his base for conquering the rest of the Commonwealth. The player is then tasked with leading the remaining Minutemen forces against the British in a last ditch attempt to push them out of the Commonwealth.

Rule Britannia!

The player arrives at the Massachusetts State House where the Minutemen are laying siege, the player must fight their way into the building and find Major Middleton. Once the player has found Middleton they try to convince him to end the fighting but to no avail. Middleton then challenges the player to a single armed combat. The player defeats Middleton and kills him. The remaining British forces are killed by reinforcements lead by Colonel Washington.

We the People

After the battle the player talks to Washington and asks them what happens next. Washington believes that the Commonwealth needs a leader to unite the people and defend them from future attacks. The player is the presented with the option of becoming the first President of the Commonwealth or asking Washington to become President. Either way the player gains access to The Massachusetts State house which is refurbished and now has a large defence force. The State House is now the home of the Commonwealth Government, with areas such as Good neighbour and Diamond City recognising its authority.
