Target robots with enchantment (EMP/Pulse)

Currently trying to add an enchantment to the Institute weapons to make them do a small amount of electrical damage over time, but only to robots, synths, and power armor (and a couple other electronics). Essentially, I'm trying to make them a weaker version of New Vegas' pulse pistol.

 

I've simply copied and renamed the existing dtElectricalEnchChanceAlways magic effect and its associated enchantment entry. I changed the damage amounts slightly and tried to add conditions to check race. I don't really understand the formatting of the conditions though, and I think I may have told it to check the race of the player, because the effect does not work in game. I applied the enchantment to all three institute weapon entries and gave it a value of 1, but no dice on robots.

 

 

 

The same conditions are copied over to the Magic Effect.

 

Do I need to reformat the conditions, or is there a completely different way I have to do this? An enchantment seemed simpler than make a new perk and messing with keywords and such, but from what I've read and seen enchantments can be a bit finicky.

According to this screenshot the target must be a protectron, wearing power armor, be liberty prime, be mr. handy, be an eyebot, an assaultron, and also a sentry bot. That's a tall order for one target. Are you sure you didn't mean to use OR instead of AND on each condition?

I had it set to OR originally and it didn't work, but I also read somewhere that Bethesda has the AND and OR meanings reversed for some reason, so I tried it with AND. Hasn't worked either way.

 

Although, now I that I think about it, I'm not sure I had the Enchantment value set correctly on the weapon when I was using OR.

Switched all the conditions back to OR, still didn't work, so I tried removing all the conditions. Now it'll play the electrical effect around targets (any target), but doesn't actually do the damage associated with it. I'm starting to think that the visual effect and the damage have to be separate Magic Effects, but that still doesn't get the racial condition to work properly.

 

New attempt. Conditions have to be set on Subject, not on Target. Enchantment now plays electrical effect over robot races for the set duration, but does not deal extra damage.
