I want to install a purchased copy of skyrim but want to keep saves and mods from pirated version(if possible). I am using Nexus Mod Manager and Skyrim script extender.

I do not support pirating games!

I wanted to play this game some time ago but didn't know if i would like it because i rarely like rpg games. So i installed a pirated version and started playing with mods soon after. And i have played a lot.

I have felt a bit guilty about this and i want to support bethesda so i bought the legendary edition today, and i need help if it is possible to keep mods and saves.

I know it is bad to pirate stuff and if this doesnt work it is price i pay doing that.

The game is located at C:\Program Files (x86)\The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim

Newest game version

All DLCs

Using Nexus Mod Manager and SKSE(latest i think)

Since my mods are saved at "C:\Games\Nexus Mod Manager\Skyrim" shouldn't it be possible to just copy the save files > uninstall pirated version > install steam version > let NMM relocate skyrim folder > install all the mods again?

What my friend did is he just copied the data folder from the cracked to the original and the mods worked for him. You can try this.

It worked! So far atleast. I thought this would mess something up due to it being a pirated version but i havn't run into any problems. Mods work, saves work and NMM found the new game directory with the old data folder. Thank you!
