Red Fox Follower/Quest mod

I have an idea for a follower/quest mod that I'd like to share in hopes somebody will take on the task of creating it as I unfortunately don't have knowledge of the creation kit or skills with blender to do it myself.

Basically my idea is for a mod which adds a quest which either rewards caps and experiance or gives the player access to a unique follower, a Red Fox.

The Questline would go something like this:

Down in the Mega Surgery Center in Diamond City you find an npc simply named 'Trapper' who appears to have a wounded foot (for immersion purposes one of his legs would be flagged crippled if somebody makes him hostile or if hes assigned a bed in the city and walks to it at the end of the day)

When first talking to him he'll be complaining about Doctors Crockers lousy bedside manner (the trapper having been subject to a quip about his appearance by him) and how much his legs still hurts even though the Doctor was supposed to have healed it, leading into four possible responses by the player:

1. Are you hurt? - Leads to the Trapper explaining what happened to him but not before the trapper chides the player for asking such a dumb question.

2. Mind telling me what happened? - Leads to the Trapper explaining what happened.

3. Sarcastic - Player makes a sarcastic quip of his own about the trapper which enrages him but he still tells the player what happened in hopes that he maybe more tactful in the future.

4. Mind if I look at that? - This is a 'trap' option which has the potential to fail the questline even before its begun. If the player has the Perk 'Medic' at rank 3 or higher he can attempt to heal the Trapper. If he succeeds the Trapper will thank him and award him a leveled ammount of caps. However this option would effectively make the quest unobtainable as the Trapper would say how much better he felt and simply leave Diamond city and disappear from the game. If the player fails then the Trapper would simply chide the player for being 'more inept then Doctor Crocker' and the player would be given a chance to respond with the original 3 options. Picking 4 again after failure would result in the Trapper saying he doesn't trust the player.

Upon picking 1,2,or 3 The trapper will explain how he makes a living trapping forest animals for their hides and pelts and how he stayed out too late one night resulting in him fumbling around in the dark and ending up stepping on one of his own traps. He'll then explain how unfortunate it is that hes injured as he worrys that scavers will salvage his traps before he can get back to them leaving him without a way to make a living. The player is then given the option to offer his help, insult the trapper by telling him that it's his own fault for stepping on his own traps (This would be another 'trap' option as it would again end the questline by making the Trapper so angry that he'd simply end the conversation and call the player an a-hole if he tried to talk to him again), Sarcasm (this time in the trappers favor), or the player appologizing (which leads to the Trapper simply sighing ending the coversation though with the option of the player returning getting the same dialogue options again)

If the player offers to help or uses sarcasm, this would trigger a misc quest where the trapper would will offer the player a modest ammount of caps for each bear trap you give him and mark the location of a trapping site on the players map. These trap sites would be in wooded areas and contain a number of traps. There would be a 'trap' option replacing the insult option where the player can lie to the trapper if hes already got 5 traps in his inventory from elsewhere having not visited the trap site yet. If this option is chosen the player will recieve caps as a reward but the quest will not progress to the next stage.

Once returning to the trapper with at least 5 traps from the trap site or after having at least visited the trap site and bring 5 traps, he'd thank the player and then ask him if he'd like to make more caps. The players responses would be simular to before (including the same 'trap') only with the appology option being changed to a maybe later option and sarcasm effectively acting the same as maybe later allowing the quest to be put on hold.

If the player accepts he'll be given a new trap site and have to collect five more traps from the new location.

When the player returns to him with the five traps again the trapper responds just as before and the player responds just as before. If the player accepts he'll be given yet another trap site where they'll need to collect 5 more traps. This would be to give the quest the appearance of being a minor repeatable quest, effectively acting as another 'trap' to trick the player into thinking there is no reward other than caps and that the quest might be endless like one of Prestons settlement quests. However, after repeating the misc quest at least 5 times the trapper will respond differently.

After the fifth time returning traps the Trapper would thank the player for all his help saying that he wished he had something more to offer. The player can respond with 'I'm just glad I could help', attempting to threaten the trapper into giving the player more caps, attempting to persude the trapper into giving the player more caps, or 'Need any more help?'. The first three are trap answers (the two skill based ones whether they succeed or not) which end the quest line. Only the 'Need anymore help?' answer continues it. If chosen the Trapper will respond the same as the first five times, giving the player a new trap location and tasking him with collecting 5 traps. However once the player arrives at the trapsite the misc quest is marked completed and an actual quest begins.

The quest would be called 'Boston Red Fox' and yes, the pun is intended. The final trap site would be so small as to make the appearance of a fox caught in a bear trap obvious. The player can approach the fox which will trigger an in-game cutscene of the player attempting to calm it down resulting in the fox growling at the player. From here the player has three options: He can shoot the fox (the fox would be tagged protected so that only the player character could kill him) resulting in him dropping his hide as loot, the player can attempt talking to the fox again which results in him simply snapping at the player. Or release the fox by opening the trap. From here the fox will slowly attempt to limp away and the player can let him opting only to collect the five traps for caps this time ending the questline with bonus caps being given and the Trapper saying he feels much better now. Alternatively the player can give the Fox a stimpak to heal his crippled leg.

Should the player choose to kill the fox and collect the 5 traps he can return to the Trapper with the pelt, the Trapper will give the player his caps for the traps and ask the player to return to him in a week without explaining why. When the player returns the Trapper offers him a unique hat as thanks for his help. The cap would be reminiscent of Davy Crocket's iconic coonskin hat only clearly made from a Red Fox. It'd offer special dmg/defense bonuses against animals but would penalize the player with -1 to Charisma implying that the players fashion choice isn't well recieved.

Should the player choose to heal the fox however the foxes flag would change from protected to essential, the fox would pause in his attempt to escape and sniff at the air before bolting away at which point a Legendary Deathclaw is spawned which the player must kill to end the quest. After this point the Red Fox would appear just outside Sanctuary hills near the path to Vault 111. If the player talks to the fox then a message will appear saying that 'Boston Red Fox' is now available as a follower.

Red Fox Behavior:

The Red Fox would behave simularly to Dogmeat (only with fox noises rather then dog), growling or barking when enemys are nearby, retrieving items when ordered, or finding items for the player. The only differance between the Red Fox and Dogmeat however is that the Red Fox will flee from combat rather then engage in it, making a fox scream noise to draw the enemies attention to it then leading some of the enemies away from combat so the player isn't overun. Should the player go back to the Trader with the Fox following them, the Trader will creepily remark about the Foxes fine coat and offer the player caps for him, not resulting in an answer from the player but a long whine from the fox. Possible accessories for the Red Fox could be a baseball cap and Jersey in spirit of the pun.
