Mitigate
The Companions, that is, Aela, Farkas and Vilkas attack the player when they use Beast Form. Now I solved the issue of them attacking when transforming. They need to be removed from the Guard Faction in the CK otherwise they will react to the 'crime' of being a Werewolf. But if the player accidentally swipes them or uses Howl of Terror near them, they still attack. I have been trying to figure out how to stop them reacting to 'friendly fire'. I figured the 'fear' effect of the howl was like being hit so I tried upping their level to make them immune but that didn't work. This is a ridiculous oversight on the devs part and has gone on long enough. They are Werewolves too! THEY TURN THE PLAYER! Someone with more knowledge of the ins and outs of this game must know a way to stop this nonsense. They should be perfectly fine with the player being a Werewolf.
mythicdream
Ok this may be a little difficult to pull off but I think I have a solution. I can't guarantee anything but I feel like this should work. Ok when you are attacked by whom ever (Companions) in beast mode, you will first need to open up console. From their, target the person attacking you, by clicking over them in console to get a set of numbers and letters on top of the console command. After that you will type into the console (don't add the apostrophes [i.e. "]) in this order,"stopcombat""setrelationshiprank player 3""disable""enable" Then you can exit console and they should no longer attack you. This worked for me when I stole a horse in front of. Legate Rikke to go to The Pale Fort only to return to her attacking me. I did he above and it worked well. Good luck and hopefully you have similar results. P.S. Credit for figuring this out goes to Enthusiast solving this problem back I'm 2011. dpgillam
PM later today to remind me (I have terrible memory) and I'll look up the specific name in the Game settings you alter to allow "X" number of hits in combat before they consider you an opponent. HalloweenWeed
Has anyone ever considered the possibility that Werewolves just attack each other (everything)?
woodsman30
At the end of the day it boils down to the whole Companion quest line is glitchy at best and unplayable at worst. I think I had only one successful playthrough with them that was on xbox lol. They attacked me after I did a quest to kill a bandit leader and they sent me on it go figure. I seem to stay away and dont bother now... even the blacksmith can die and that makes no sense because then the quest line cannot be completed...I wish you luck. HalloweenWeed
I had a very successful playthrough, and then undid werewolf, but I really hated that the guards kept saying: "is that ... fur ... growing out of your ears?" and something about my smell smelling like dogs.
