Having trouble with ENB configuration

Greetings.

Over the years I've tried many times to install ENB presets but I've always desisted in the end. Why? My FPS drops from 45 to 15 whenever I do.

I've tried disabling every single feature separately to find the most performance costing ones but none of them seemed to drain much in particular. In the end I decided to try and disable them all at once but, the fact that the graphics ended up being nothing more than black silhouettes drawn on the sky, the FPS only went up to 22.

Am I misconfigured something? Or does ENB require that much performance just to process even without effects?

Current situation

· I'm running the game on a NVidia GTX 750. My RAM is 8GB. My CPU is an i3 with 3.6GHz.
· I've got no other graphics mod installed apart from ELFX.
· My SkyrimPrefs.ini looks like this.
· My enblocal.ini looks like this.
· The ENB preset I ran this tests with was T.A.Z Visual Overhaul.

PS: Will keep the description up to date with anything else I find out.

Sorry to say but this graphics card isn't anything that call for using an ENB. 1GB...that isn't even sufficient for the High Resolution Texture Pack!

Post the memory section of your enblocal and I can see if you can tweak anything (I'm not going to read the whole thread you have linked there).

Uploaded my own enblocal.ini file. You can find it on the original post.

the 1GB of vram is definitely a problem.

I tested VANILLA skyrim on ultra with NO mods and the vanilla game used over 1GB of vram.

You will need to reduce the screen resolution due lower your vram usage.

With that said your ENB Local isnt configured right.

I don't know where you got the info my graphics card has only 1GB of memory but I just checked the package and it says it's got 2GB GDDR5.

The advanced display view confirms so.

Am I misunderstanding anything?

I've updated my enblocal.ini following those guidelines. I will report any difference in case I find any.

EDIT: Nope. No noticeable changes.

Oh. Well in that case you should be ok. Stick with performance versions tho.

Some tips for better performance.

Download optimized textures. These save vram and improve performance with NO loss of visual quality.

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/57353/?

Tweak your ENB settings for better performance.

Minimize AA or use less demanding AA. Disable water and other things that dont have major visual impact. etc etc

Try out more performance friendly ENBs and when given options (many authors do this) choose the performance presets.

Keep in mind your card is at the BOTTOM end of what youd want for an ENB. I would say the minimum is 660 or equivalent. 750 is close...

In areas like riften you will likely get performance drops no matter what you do.

I used to have a 660 not too long ago.
