Password recovery issue

I've run into a small issue. I am not able to recall my password and am only able to currently use the forums as the cookie for the last time I logged in has not yet expired. My email is a gmail account and it appears that I am not receiving the lost password email -- i've checked the spam folder and do not see it there either. I know I did receive emails in the past to from nexus mods to this address as I even have one still sitting in the inbox from back in Oct 2015.

Is there any admin that can assist me with this?

Thanks.

PS: I tried creating a new account using a non-gmail and non-yahoo email address and do not appear to be receiving validation emails there either.

I am having the exact same issue with this account. I also tried to create a new account and didn't get the registration email either. They are not in spam folders. Cant reset password for this account and cant verify a new one. I'm a premium member and mod author and would like to get this fixed so I can keep mod updated

  • 2 years later...

Absolute nightmare signing up for this site.

Using a password manager, it took my 35 character password with High ANSI but kept giving me incorrect username/password error when trying to log in.

Using the password recovery...the links sent by this site had

https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?app=core&module=global§ion=lostpass&do=sendform&uid=...etc

and

https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?app=core&module=global§ion=lostpass&do=sendform

Looking closely at the password recovery page URL where I initiated the recovery,

I noticed it had

https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?app=core&module=global&section=lostpass

So manually replaced the global§ion with global&section and THERE I found a password restriction of "no more than 32 characters".

I dropped the High ANSI characters just in case there were more problems.

I also had problems with the verification link and kept getting a "page not found" error so requested to send link again and it worked on the second email. I can't confirm, but I think there is a URL error on the first verification link.

Please don't accept passwords on signup if you are not going to validate it later on, and check the link code going out for password recovery. I think there is an error.

Thanks.

Hi there,

Are you aware you have replied to a topic from almost 3 years ago?

The problem with the URLs is your email client corrupting the "&sect" part of the URL. It's not an error on our side.

I will look into the upper limit on password, it's not something that's ever come up before.
