Making a small mod for the SP Campaign - need help

Recommended Posts

I've been working on a little project to learn how to use the DA Toolset. I was a little bit dissatisfied with how repetitive World Map encounters are, so I decided to do something about it. It's gotten a little bit out of hand, I think.

I made a brand new level with several sub-areas to replace the Chanter's Board sidequest "Loghain's Push" - the "Civil War" pin on the map, in other words. I dunno if this will be part of a larger project. We'll see.

Yeah, I basically made an entire new village in the Bannorn. It can be revisited for trading and stuff.

What I need help with is scripting. There's some things I wanna do with the quest to make it a little more complex...

...But it's just hopelessly over my head.

Does anyone familiar with scripting for DA's engine want to help me out?

without knowing what exactly it is you want to do with it, it's kinda hard to know how to help you. I try to organize my mods a little before I even start them. if it's new areas and quests, I make a spread sheet of each area and list all the quests I want for that area. sometimes I list them under multiple areas if the quest is going to carry over to other areas. once I know what I want to do, I start making my quests one at a time until they are all done. I make the npcs, items, etc as I go along. once one quest is complete I move to the next. the scripting part can be easy or complex. sometimes you may even need to get creative and think 'out of the box', but without knowing what you want it's kind of impossible to get specific.

Basically what I need right now is someone familiar with Quest and NPC scripting, and triggers and such. Getting groups of Creatures to do certain things. I can figure out the rest of the Toolset easily enough on my own, I'm just really stumped when it comes to scripts.

I jotted down what specifically I'm trying to do in that imgur link.
