Safe storage containers

One other thing I have noticed. Containers are good, the interface is good, sorting etc is good but I do not seem to be able to find a tool to do what I am about to describe. Maybe this is an SKSE thing, maybe someone knows how to do this or if it has already been done.

I come back from a hard days plundering carrying both my plunder and my precious equipment. It would be really nice to go up to a barrel or chest or something and have a command that allows me to "dump all" (the reverse of the command to "take all").

Then I can pull out my plunder, go do my crafting or whatever, put it where it needs to go, return to that chest or whatever and use the "take all" to get my precious rings, armor etc back again.

Any thoughts?

Try my Storage Helpers mod. It's the only general purpose item transfer mod as far as I know.

It adds three new keys to the container menus (including follower inventories) designed around the SkyUI menus that transfer only items in your current view.

The "Put Most" key transfers everything except your lockpicks, gold, equipped items, favorite items, and soul gems (depending on your configuration settings).

The "From Top" is similar but also works to take as well as put items. It only transfers items from the top of the list down to the item you select. I use that to transfer only expensive (or cheap) items to or from containers.

The other key is "All of Item" and lets you transfer all of a single item without that annoying quantity pop-up. And it can even move quest items into some special containers if you want to temporarily get them out of your inventory.

There are other features for your home decorating and storage needs like craftable and wearable containers, object positioning, etc. but you can ignore those if you like.

I use the wearable containers (and portable sacks) to do some sorting and organizing of my loot while I'm still adventuring. Crafting supplies go in a pouch, loot to be sold into the large sack, special loot I want to save in the small sack, ingredients in the satchel, etc. It don't put things in every time I pick something up but I do stop and sort things when I start to get enough items that it's hard to see just what I have.

Typing the reference ID of a container, after the removeallitems command, is supposed to transfer the items into the container instead of making them disappear. I tried it a few times, with the barrels outside of Adrienne's shop in Whiterun. It did work, but it always makes me a bit nervous. Definitely get in the habit of saving before trying it.
