Hihi, sorry I'm rather new on this forum, but I felt the need to post since I've been looking nonstop and it's driving me insane,

so okay. i joined the thieves guild and I've finished the main quest line except for the Grand finale, the last mission to

which i need to do side quests from Vex and Delvin

I know i have to do 5 side quests in each city in order to activate the mini-main- quest for the city in order to restore Thieves reputation over there, I have finished my first " minimain " quest which was at Whiterun.

So I went over to talk to Olfrid Battleborn, I gave him the card I retrieved from the jarl and he gave me something back, OKAY. So Everything was fine

I went down to the rat way talked to Delvin

and Kept up grinding these boring jobs, So I accepted 7 jobs

Locations:

Wildhelp: 1

Whiterun: 2(Sweep job, Burglary job) Both declined after i got the quest since I already had the main quest from whiterun

Riften: 2

Solitude: 2

I kept up grinding jobs the entire night for at least 2 hours until i noticed he stopped giving me main quests and his dialogue was bugged; each 5 sidequests in a city he would randomly have " Olfrid sends his regards " yadda, yadda how he mentions the guild is growing bigger and how we have a new merchant with us, etc, etc.

Once that conversation's over he'll go back to " Looking for extra job ?" and once again the cycle repeats; i get 5 jobs done in a city " Olfrid sends his regards, blahblahblah " and once again the loop continues.

I've tried RestartAI, Disable, enable, Even installed a mod for the thiefguild to apparently..make this easier and avoid getting him glitched this mod, and last but not least

setstage TGTQ02 10 which does,... nothing It apparently starts up the quest and tells me to go talk to erikur(he's alive) but the quest only lasts...what? .5 seconds? then it appears on my questline right at the finished or failed quests.

Thanks for reading this long message and please avoid saying " hurrhurr you need to do 5 side quests for Vex or Delvin " ..Believe me, I know.

Sidenote: sorry if i seemed bitchy, but it's my third day trying to fix freaking Delving and he's just trolling non stop... I started the side quests with 3-4k ... now I freaking have 14,928 ....

Oh right, to add up.. Solitude is at 4 Sidequests and wildhelm is at 3, i have done the last quests i need to reach the 5 sidequest cap, and what happens? Nothing! :D! he just keeps giving me useless sidequests without offering me the option to do either

Dainty sload or Summerset Shadows

Oh and .. I'm playing on PC.

I feel your pain, a somewhat similar thing happened to me in my current game (I use the LTGJ mod). Drove me freakin' nuts. However, from various posts on LTGJ's comments page, it became apparent that, since the latest USKP and USLEEP, that mod can actually cause that bug. (I use the latest USKP.) The author even uploaded some patches, but users have had mixed results. In my case, I completed Solitude with no problem, but had to use the setstage command for all the remaining cities after doing 5 jobs in each. Once that was done, Under New Management triggered automatically. (The setstage command was a small price to pay for all the aggro that LTGJ saves. Love that mod.)

Anyways, just to clarify as I'm a bit confused by your comment "Solitude is at 4 and windhelm is at 3" - they're really at 5 right? (i.e. you did more jobs and thus the "i have done the last quests i need to reach the 5 sidequest cap" comment). And you used the setstage command after you'd completed the 5 jobs in a particular city?

Anyways, after all that, sorry but not sure I can suggest anything except (1) are you using USLEEP (i.e. if you have all 3 DLCs) or the latest USKP (if you don't)? If not, install the applicable one. (Afaik, each of them attempt to fix that bug.) (2) If you are using one of them, then try the patch for the LTGJ mod, maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones for whom it works.

Oh, also, from what I read when I was trying to solve my problem (before discovering it was from LTGJ), make sure you don't have an open quest from Delvin when you want to get the special job from him. I.E. if you've just finished a quest from each of Vex and Delvin, make sure to talk to Delvin first in order to close his questline.

Wish I could be of more help, I know that bug is freakin' crazy-making.

I don't use USLEEP or USKP I'm rather new at modding so I'm learning as I go, Considering most of Skyrim guides are Sooo SOOO outdated some things have changed completely.

Uh, . . Yeah, Yesterday I spent the whole day grinding up those jobs non stop, i did AT LEAST over 7 jobs at solitude and I would keep getting the message " That special job at whiterun is done " and Delvin would respond with his usual " Olfrid sends his regards blahlabalh " , so i kept grinding up thinking to my self " Maybe it's just glitched and if i do some more jobs he will stop" No! It didn't work.

So Today from ...3pm til 8pm i tried to fix him up with commands, it didn't work. I tried to activate Solitudes special job(The Dainty Sload) by commands; It didn't work it activated the quest only to have it disappear from questline and straight into the finished section without even really finishing it.

As to the numbers i posted Yeah I counted my jobs I had done so I installed LTGJ(Today around 6pm, My Delvin began glitching even before I installed LTGJ) so it could be easier for me to keep track on how many i've done.

I could easily reach the 5 jobs cap AGAIN, for the 100000000 time if I was needed to, but I decided to keep my " most virgin " file since I usually delete old saves that I no longer use or are really behind, So.. That's the numbers my most " virgin " file has, before He went all nuts.. Or so i hope it to still be " Virgin "

Especially if it started bugging out on you before installing LTGJ, I would definitely try using the applicable unofficial patch. (It's a really good idea to install the unofficial patch, even aside from this issue. Fixes a ton of bugs.)

From the June 2015 change log for USKP (USLEEP includes those changes, and doesn't appear to have done anything further to Delvin):

"Several errors in dialogue handling for Delvin's special jobs and radiant quests have been corrected. (TGRShell) (Bug #19336)" Pretty sure that's exactly what we're talking 'bout here.

I'd maybe try going back to a save prior to installing LTGJ (is that what your "virgin" one is?) before installing the unofficial patch, so that mod doesn't interfere (as I said, it doesn't play nice with the unofficial patches re: that bug). Maybe ideally before you have 5 jobs done in any hold. Although I guess you'd have nothing to lose by first trying installing on your current save with LTGJ loaded, and (i) try the LTGJ patch and if that doesn't work (ii) uninstall the patch, go back to the save just prior to installing the patch and see if the "setstage 10" console commands work for the remaining cities like they did for me (again, I had USKP and LTGJ loaded at the time).

As an aside - you might consider, before deleting your saves, archiving copies of them into a 7z or zip file at least so they're handy for trouble-shooting purposes. (If not all of them, at least a good bunch.)

Anyways, best of luck.

I had to uninstall and reinstall skyrim all over again x'D I closed Skyrim and opened it up again only to find out it would CTD whenever i tried to load my file

Anyhow. I had the unofficial patch installed since i had CTD struggles before and once the patch was installed + ENBoost It completely got rid of CTD's.

But since i had a nice pile of glitches piling up I figured I should just restart from 0, I did save one file of my previous saved data.

now only thing i have in mind is... Is there any code or command to help my follower to level up? we were level 24.. xD

Might be possible to level up your follower, but I don't know how. But you can buff a follower's individual skills via console.

To find out what their skills are, go into console and click on the follower (you have to be pretty close) and type "getav", space, then the particular skill. EG "getav sneak" "getav heavyarmor" "getav health" "getav destruction"... etc. But without the quotation marks. (For archery, skyrim uses "marksman". I think all the others are the usual names.)

To increase any skill type "modav skill #" (Where # is the amount you want to increase their skill by.) E.G. "modav onehanded 15" increases your followers one handed skill by 15 points. Some people use "setav" instead of "modav", but the problem with that is that "setav" sets a skill in stone and it can't increase any further.

You can check that the buff worked by again using the "getav" command, and the result should show their original skill + whatever you added via the "modav" command.

No worries, glad to help. (Oh, btw, you can also put a negative sign in front of the number in case you want to de-buff something.)

You didn't ask, but I thought I'd mention another thing that's handy for followers - ie. to ditch their default bow & arrows. To do that, first look at their inventory by going into console, clicking the follower and typing "inventory" (actually, I think simply "inv" works too.) You'll see what they have and, more importantly, the item code for their bow and (iron) arrows. While still in console, type "removeitem idnumber #) where number is the number of items to remove. So, for the bow it's "removeitem whateveritemcodethebowis 1" and, for the arrows, "removeitem whateveritemcodethearrowsare 12" (Pretty sure the arrow count is always 12.)

I can't recall exactly how long that lasts. For sure you have to do it again if you dismiss then rehire. Maybe even after shutting the game down, but I can't remember. (I don't think so, but maybe.)

That way, followers stop that annoying habit of sometimes equipping their stupid wooden bow or iron arrows even after you've given them some crazy-ass Daedric Super Bow and a bunch of ebony arrows.

I think there's a mod that was recently published that does this (presumably permanently), but I don't know much about it.
