Can't choose birth sign - no back or ok button

Hi everyone. I played Morrowind when it came out - loved it despite the many crashes to desktop. I've just installed the steam version on a Windows 10 machine (i7, GTX 1070, SSD). I successfully installed Morrowind Overhaul - Sound and Graphics.

Game starts fine - bit grainy. Removed the frame per second counter in the MGE Gui. However, when I walk into the census office and choose the birth sign the interface is missing the Back and OK button in the bottom right hand corner. So I can't choose a birth sign or back up to the previous screen - I have to exit the game.

Any help would be appreciated. I can open the console with ~, so a command line would work. I was thinking of choosing Lady.

Review your MCP options, seem to remember there being a GUI option which can mess things up if your set-up isn't right.

Also get john.moonsugar's unofficial patch for MGSO and update all the programs bundled with MGSO to the latest versions. As MGSO is very behind.

Interesting... I remember having the exact same problem a while back. I am and was also running MGSO, though I did not suspect it as the culprit. I don't remember what exactly I did to solve the problem, but I think it did have something to do with the MCP being out of date.

Anyway, glad you found a workaround. I think however, that simply updating MCP as Dragon suggested could be a more permanent solution. (In case anyone else with our problem comes looking in on this thread.)

Confirmed solution:

After dutifully installing all mods properly with Wrye Mash, I find the stupid OK button missing from star sign selection screen. Found on the net that high resolution helps. So I set my screen to 1920 x 1200 in MGXE and set the UI scale to 1.5. Voila! It works perfectly. :(
That was a lot of game restarts and trying to find the cause.. :(
