Modded Skyrim CTD or Freezing Randomly.

I have recently installed many mods to skyrim. At first it was working smoothly but now after a few more mods were added it will crash to the desktop with no warning or it will just freeze. This usually happens between Riverwood and Whiterun. I think it has to do with my load order but I have been unable to nail down the problem. Could you help me find the problem?

 

Here is my load Order: A 1 at the end means that it is activated. A 0 means that it is deactivated.

Hello,

• CTDs troubleshooting page on Reddit. depending on what's happening in game, choose the subsections that describe the best your problem.
• Make sure you're using the good mods >> Dangerous mods list.
• Verify gamecache.

Here is a list of things that may help stabilizing your game if not already been done. :

/// Load order / mods conflicts :

• Use L.O.O.T once and click on the "sort plugins buttons".
• Create a wryebash patch including leveled lists.
• Create a merged patch with Tesedit excluding leveled lists
• How things work in Tes5edit : load order / conflict looser - winner / Forwarding / adding as a master. More specifically, you may create a manual patch between two or more mods.

/// Cleaning and correcting potential bugs :

• Clean your master files to eliminate potential problems : Gopher's videos cleaning your masterfiles on the Nexus Tesedit page.
  Start Tes5edit, simply untick everything, (right-click/select none) and add only a tick to the esm/esp you want to check + update.esm, Tesedit knows what to do and will load all the dependencies automatically.
  - Begin with loading only Skyrim + update, ITM / UDR + save ctrl +s and close.
  - Then load Skyrim + update + Dawnguard, ITM / UDR + ctrl +s and close.
  - Then load Skyrim + update + Hearthfire, ITM / UDR + ctrl +s and close.
  - Then load Skyrim + update + Dragonborn, ITM / UDR + ctrl +s and close.
• The method above can be used to clean mods. LOOT should tell you which plugin you should clean. You may also do a check errors.

/// Settings / memory :

• Ensure you're not using redundant memory patches, such as SSME, skse.ini; crash fixes with the UseOSAllocators=1 enabled, or safety load. Preferably, use crash fixes or skse memory patch.
• Memory blocks log will help to refine memory settings.
• Backup your ini files and delete the files. Skyrim.ini / SkyrimCustom.ini / SkyrimPrefs.ini found in C:\Users\User\Documents\My Games\Skyrim then use your vanilla launcher to autodetect and use best settings for your computer.
• STEP INI tweaking wiki.
• You may install ENBOOST >> ENB graphics / ENB haxx.

• Don't uninstall mods at mid-game, there are no clean save in Skyrim but using save script cleaner can help removing orphan scripts.
• New SkyrimTools, (corrupt saves topic).

/// Meshes healer :

• Read here, this is potentially a cause of CTD that you can resolve by following the mod procedure on this page.

/// Useful informations :

• Skyrim requirements wiki.
• Skse installation : skse on steam or Manual install. (SKSE, memory and skse.ini). SKSE logs are here : C:\Users\User\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\SKSE. SKSE troubleshooting guide.
• Skyrim performance monitor.
• STEP troubleshooting page.
• Ensure your skyrim installation is healthy = Make skyrim vanilla again.
• an efficient guide to build your game : STEP.
• Make sure you're using the latest USLEEP instead of the obsolete unofficial patches. If some of your old mods require them, you may use the USLEEP swap masters.
• Crashdump analysis.
• Papyrus log is a scripts log only and doesn't cover anything else, not a crash log. Interpreting Papyrus Log Errors, thanks to Arthmoor.
• Need a tool to manage GPU fan speed that works with ENB ? You may try Afterburner. (tested)

Thank you for the resources. Now I have been going through those resources but still have been unable to solve the problem. I have also noticed that some times it will crash when in whiterun I click the favorites key.

I'm surprised you checked the troubleshooting guide in only...9 minutes, (especially if it's a random CTD). You should have everything to target your problem above, CTD, load order, memory management, etc...

No i did not go through it all in 9 minutes, I had been working on the problem all morning and had seen the same check posted on other similar topics. But I have now found things that I missed so I am going through them.

I have made the modifications to the Skyrim memory blocks and the game is running smoothly. I will do more tests to see, but so far so good.

 

At first I did not understand how Skyrim allotted memory so I thought that there could be no problem there because I have 16GB of Ram, but now I see that that must have been the problem. Crashing or freezing at no one point, forever loading screens, and no crashes or freezing if I do not move or do not travel to areas with many objects or NPCS; this all seems to point to the memory blocks being the problem.

 

Though, when setting up the memory block fix one needs to insure that SKSE.ini is a system config file and not a text file. To do this create it with extensions visible and delete the .txt from the end and save.

Of course you'll need to delete the lines you added in skse.ini so that they won't create compatibility problems.

Hy yeah this one way to trouble shootthe problem but i try lot mod combo and max limit i try 150 mod. 150 mod is over moded and computer cant handle because to mcuh exapmle if to much hd tranformation mod which broke original file go frez the game.

i use 130 mod whcich i test and work properly not contains any visual effect. because those visual effect somtime broke game.

 

Skyrim 5 edit help but not to much when run error serach not show where conflictt or animation change etc.

 

Try again and agin until you dount perfect best mod combo which not g0o over 130 mod.
