Dwovar
I loaded up Skyrim after a good three years when a friend bought me the Elder Scrolls Collection (or whatever it was called). I had played Skyrim and it's DLC's to death on console but I remembered from Oblivion what fantastic things mods can do. I also remembered how unstable they can make the game, so endeavored to mod wisely. I read each mods descriptions, incompatibilities, and checked for patches. That said, I'm clearly missing something. I use NMM's most recent versionI use LOOT and FNIS every time I add or remove a mod.I just started using Wyre Bash, although I'm still a bit mystified by it. But I can't seem to escape CTDs with more than 15 mods installed. I'm not really interested in playing the same game I played 3 years ago all over again without being able to mix things up a bit, but I can't seem to get it to run together. These are the mods that I always run with, and even this list causes crashes. I have downloaded a significant number of compatibility patches (which I can list if it will help) to make them run smoothly and always make sure I'm keeping them LOOT ordered and FNIS updated and Bashed. I get CTDs during seemingly unrelated incidences no matter what list I have. I've done a lot of googling and researching and am, frankly, embarrassed to be asking for help on something sort of trivial, but I just can't get the game to play. Right now I'm reinstalling Skyrim in concern that I've made it inherently unstable by applying so many mods. If anyone can help I appreciate it. Madzookeeper
so, i know that run for your lives, skytest, immersive jewelry (simply because of how much flipping stuff it adds), and smim can all cause problems if your computer can't handle it. you might start by cutting down on those. etac can also cause problems for the same reason as IJ, wisemans flora overhaul can with some setups as well. if that's actually the order you're loading stuff, i can tell you right now that not having coin exchange above immersive jewlery will cause it to CTD. and alternate start needs to be one of the absolute last things that you're loading. i'm also pretty sure that caco needs to come after cco. i've noticed that that for myself, trying to run more than three of falskaar, wyrmstooth, legacy of the dragonborn and summerset isle just kinda kills the game and it won't go more than maybe three or so minutes. i think it's just to much actual data for the game to handle. you also need to make sure that you have your skse ini setup correctly, and using ENBoost would also probably help out a lot. Darkstyler35
<Right now I'm reinstalling Skyrim in concern that I've made it inherently unstable by applying so many mods.> if you want a more stable game and a better gaming experience, here are some suggestions :Make skyrim vanilla again. Before installing any mod at first, you may use an efficient guide to build your game : STEP or STEP legendary. Some of the tips below are already covered by STEP. Use crash fixes with the UseOSAllocators=1 enabled. Install ENBOOST >> ENB graphics / ENB haxx. Make sure you're using the latest USLEEP instead of the obsolete unofficial patches. If some of your old mods require them, you may use the USLEEP swap masters. Make sure you're using the good mods >> Dangerous mods list. Use L.O.O.T once and click on the "sort plugins buttons". Clean your master files to eliminate potential problems : Gopher's videos cleaning your masterfiles on the Nexus Tesedit page. You may use this updated guide to clean your masters. It contains the same automated cleaning procedure as Gopher explains in his video + repeating once for Dawnguard.esm + some selective manual cleaning. The method above can be used to clean mods. LOOT should tell you which plugin you should clean. You may also do a check errors. Create a wryebash patch including leveled lists. Create a merged patch with Tesedit excluding leveled lists How things work in Tes5edit : load order / conflict looser - winner / Forwarding / adding as a master. More specifically, you may create a manual patch between two or more mods. Don't uninstall mods at mid-game, there are no clean save in Skyrim but using save script cleaner can help removing orphan scripts. New SkyrimTools, (corrupt saves topic).Hope this helps.
