Infinite loading screen

Hey everyone, I am James. I have recently reinstalled my Skyrim. I am a heavy modder (always been) and currently my Skyrim has over 300 mods and 252 plugins. I have, in the last several days, experienced a number of cases of infinite loading screen and occasional CTD.

I think that it might have been due to heavy modding, but I have carefully checked my mods for their compatibility and used LOOT and wrye bash. I am not sure if this was caused by my mods or my PC (the PC has been used for over a year). Below is my already LOOTed load order:

Any insight is helpful. I wish only to know how to deal with this. I am never experienced infinite loading screen ever since I played Skyrim, not even once. I look forward to your help.

A short term solution may be the mod Safety Load by kapaer.

You'll probably see some replies below suggesting that it's no longer necessary with the latest version of SKSE, yet user after user has reported that they were getting infinite loading screens even WITH the latest version of SKSE, and that Safety Load, once installed, solved the issue.

At this point, you have nothing to lose by trying it.

The only time I have personally experienced infinite loading screens is due to having a framerate higher than 60fps or having conflicting enb-related files left over from old enbs. If you alt-tab during the loading screen and tab back in will it load? Also, have you checked your save file for orphaned scripts?

I thank you for your help. I also read about the status of Safety Load and I admit I thought it was not needed. I am going to install it right away.

P.S: Worked like a charm. I still have the CTD thing though. It took like 5 minutes before the game crashed. Could it be because I have a lot of intensive mods?

My framerate is always around 60 max. I have also fixed orphan script instances using Save cleaner. Is that sufficient?

If you're anywhere close to the VRAM limit you're going to crash a lot.

When I have lots of retextures loaded, coupled with script heavy survival/immersion mods, I crash all the time, especially when opening the map, or navigating the SKYUI menus. The only instance of crashing in this scenario that I can duplicate on command is when heading south from Dragon's Bridge into the Reach (I think it's the Reach, whatever hold Markarth is in). I can't begin to explain the wherefores of it, but there are a lot of things going on in Skyrim at the same time, and mods are constantly telling the game to do things it was not designed to do.

But hey, at least you can play your save again.

Just came across this post searching for Infinite loading screen. Confirming that, even though I already had the latest skse, after reading this I installed safety load and it worked like a charm for me. No more Infinite loads.

Cheers

Try not to have any 4k textures. As long as you don't have any 4k textures your VRAM should be fine.

If you have any script heavy mods that could be the cause of crashing or any combat mods that are unstable.

From my knowledge mods like locational damage and Crismon Tide and deadly spell impacts are unstable. Try to check the comments section of the mods you installed too.

Not sure about this but sounds of skyrim could cause a problem
