Crashes to Desktop Happening Constantly Around Populated Areas

So I've been having trouble with CTDs a lot lately, and I have no idea what to do about it. It only seems to happen when I come into proximity of a large city. Rarely around villages does it happen, but always when I'm getting near a hold capital. Please help.

I was going to include a txt doc with the papyrus log from the last crash, (a game session that lasted about 20 seconds, I might add), but the file was too big to upload.

Open Cities and Immersive Citizens are both pretty resource intensive mods.

 

The fact that this is happening around the hold capitals pretty much indicates that Open Cities is your culprit. Remove it, see if you still crash.

You really should. Most likely Open Cities is just too much for Skyrim to load into RAM, ENBoost effectively gives it more RAM to work with. Its worth trying out at least.

So I did instal ENBoost, and I have about the same performance. I'm still crashing, but I can usually make it inside the city and walk around a bit before it happens. Also, I Realized, two mods didn't show up on my load order initially. Those were Jk's Skyrim-lite and realistic water 2. I think this was because they were improperly installed at the time, but I've since reinstalled them and am still experiencing crashes.

JK Skyrim, even the light version, is pretty demanding.

You are probably going to have to axe Open Cities.

 

tbh while the concept is cool, I could never justify it in Oblivion or Skyrim for exactly this reason.
