Best save mod for Survival?

Well, I finally found a reason to hate the save system on Survival mode. I was working on some mods, then proceeded to screw something up, and when I loaded my current save everything was jacked up. So, in a panic I loaded an earlier save, and everything was still jacked up. Then I realized the damn game was auto saving on exit and now all of the available saves are auto saved jacked up and I can't fix them. So, since the system only saves like 3 save points, my current play through is destroyed and I'm done playing with this crap. I've loved survival up until this point, I'm a grown ass man I think I can handle my save files like a big boy lol.

SO, what's the best mod you guys have seen that gets around the Survival save crap?

It's mind-boggling that Beth would force an auto-save system, when it's been famous for created corrupted files since Morrowind (though it's gotten better). Then you add in the crashing and losing hours, and the whole thing is just russian roulette. You shouldn't have to explain why you want to fix the save system, people should have to justify why they're not. ;)

Anyway, my favorite is Survival Options. It works great and it's a one-stop solution which allows you to toggle or configure every survival feature from your pipboy in game. And it enables the console, which is required for taking decent screenshots and fixing bugs. It keeps all survival settings default (except for the console, IIRC) until you change them. Also note that this allows you to both increase and decrease the difficulty of specific features, so you can really tailor gameplay to what you want.

It has a lot of save options, including auto-save on various events (level up, change cells, etc.), but also has an option for a save item, which can generate etiher auto-saves or regular saves. You can click or hotkey the item for manual saves.

To be clear, I don't think this is Beth's fault, it's mine. I had already been playing Survival mode for a long time, I'm not sure what I did but I installed a mod via NMM and it screwed everything up, the game wouldn't launch. I uninstalled the mod and the game still would crash on start up. I ended up uninstalling the entire game and all mods, redownloading the essential mods and then I was able to pick up where I left off on one of my saves, albeit with the loss of content from removing mods. So, all is not lost.

But, I still think it's ridiculous that the autosave/sleep save function only saves 3 files total. That's insane. Right now I'm using Gopher's autosave mod and I changed in the .ini how many saves I want it to create before it starts over writing them, so I *think* all is good now.

Moral of the story, make backups and make them often.

No, it's Beth's fault. They disallow saving for the vast majority of your playtime, in an engine with retarded AI, and an ease of breaking in such a way that they even look blameless. They coulda just gone "Aww yeah, let's let 'em customize s***, play tha way they wanna" but no.

Yep no way to parse this that it isn't Beth's fault. They could have installed toggles easily. Hell there were many folks, myself included, that asked for it when survival was in beta. Instead they pushed right along with their crappy vision.

*shrugs* I just assume they decided to experiment with fallout for their next TES game. It's the only way I can rationalize the existence of settlements and survival mode in their current state.

Like Ondrea had suggested above I also use the Survival mode save enable, the ability to hard save when I want and need them doesn't undermine the mode at all.

I'm already stuck in Nate/Nora's shoes so Bethesda telling me I'm also a narcoleptic is a no go.

I been useing Survival Options. Mostly due to the bugs. If I need to use the console commands due to a quest bug. and the save options due to how unstable the game is at times. Some of the other options I do like, as i don't care for everything they put into survival mode.
