Just wondering if anyone is interested in watching a full plahythrough of skyrim with updated 2016 mods featuring better graphics, and a focus on better and more immersive npc's with enhanced AI overhaul mods?

I'm thinking of recording a playthrough onto youtube if there's a big enough audience for it.

I'm just one person, but my feedback would be: if we're only talking better graphics and newer mods, I wouldn't be interested. The only thing that would draw me is a coherent roleplay settled around a slowly emerging character with interesting thoughtful narrative. I don't think I've ever even seen a solid example of this thus far, but I think Lorerunner's Oblivion playthrough (youtube) was the closest.

Roleplays don't have to start out deep. You can roll into it with a basic idea of what your approach will be and then flesh out who the character is over time as circumstances present themselves.

Just as an example:

Character: an orc of around 16

Start point (via Alternate Start mod): on ship as refugee.

Background: parents dead in wars, was put on ship by uncle for better life. Grew up with coddling mother as an only child so is self-centered and not very experienced in life. Suspicious of all non-orsimer, racist toward humans whom he knows as 'pink skins'. Idealistic, thinks he does not have to kill to live and thrive. Has no idea what a harsh world Skyrim is.

Story Arc: discovery of his own weakness, of his own mortality, his own moral greyness--and the moral greyness of the world in which he now inhabits. Does he seek out his own and stay on the outside as an outcast with them ? Or does he bend his own traditions to become a citizen of skyrim ?

So that's an example of a background that is simple enough to write up (took me 2 minutes); and you can imagine it as informing the choices you make as a player and thus informing the commentary of a playthrough.

If there are certain ways you just like playing (as you say, with multiple tactics), write that into the background. How did your character learn those tactics, etc.

There are quite a few of those out already. Making videos should be because you want to. And roleplays seem to be very popular altho not my cup of tea.

What attracts me to videos and what would make me subsbribe is someone who has a nicely modded game. Mix of gameplay and graphics. Mods that i use and like. And who makes quality entertaining videos.

I dont wanna see you navigating menus and adjusting MCM's constantly and i dont wanna see you spending half the video chatting with NPC's. Also dont wanna hear crappy audio and heavy breathing into mic lol.

I typically follow people i can relate to mod wise and who make quality videos. Requiem players i will almost instantly subscribe too.

@twiztedmongoloid: Thanks for the tip. I had never seen their work before. Overall it's very well done. Glad I know about it even if they in particular may not be my cuppa. Checked out their F:NV and find 1) it's a touch earnest 2) It doesn't seem like he's playing the game anymore--the narrative modes are too distinct I suppose, so from what I've seen you don't get normal gameplay. Makes it less dynamic, too scripty, not sufficiently improvisational.

Thanks for the feedback everyone!

Twizted Mongoloid, I'm not sure if I'd love making videos, I haven't tried it yet. I do however love playing skyrim. I want to make a video because I tend to watch over people's playthrough and always catch myself wondering why people don't put much emphasis on AI mods that give more realistic combat and a more immersive land full of people doing their own thing, instead of waiting around hoping the Dragonborn will just walk by so they have someone to talk to lol. I wanted to do this because with some mods I use, I had this amazing battle happen that I was totally unprepared for right off the bat, and I barely managed to escape alive, only to exit the dungeon thinking I got away safely, to be hunted again by the same dragon! It went like this:

I was using Skyrim Unbound. I had dragons enabled from the start, because, why not? I also had auto-unlock shouts on and used the dragon knowledge mod, so I can use shouts as soon as I learn the words, and spend dragon souls on more perk points to invest in different skill trees. I feel that it makes for a much better playthrough, especially using a perk overhaul, like Requiem. :-)

Anyways, I was going to bleak falls burrow, my 1st dungeon! As I start fighting those two bandits at that little tower, a freaking draon attacks me! So I took cover in the tower. The dragon starts hovering just outside the tower, and lighting up the whole place with fire! I tried moving but then he just shot fire at me through the window! I started panicking thinking "I'm screwed! I chose to start out with a sword, and I only picked up a few arrows from thew bandits!" So I ran up to the top of the tower, quickly killed the last bandit, and looted the chest before heading back downstairs with fire on my heels.

So I got to thinking "Okay, I need to run for it, and maybe, with luck, I'll make it inside the barrow. Maybe the dragon will focus on the other bandits while I escape." I waited for the dragon to circle the other side of the tower, and sprinted up the hill. Again, he chased me, doing fly-by's and making me use my magic to stay alive. I finally get there, and all the bandits attack me at once. I managed to kill one before falling off the entrance to the barrows. I ran back towards the stairs as the dragon landed in front of me! I sprinted around him, bandits on my heels. He opened fire on them instead of me, buying me time. I ran up the stairs and just before I got underneath the overhang, the dragon plopped in front of me again! All the bandits were already dead, so I just kept running around the dragon until I got inside. He had lit me up with fire again, and as I entered the barrow, I had less than 10% of my health left.

It didn't end there. I cleared the barrow without much difficulty, and came out the back way over-emcumbered with loot. That freaking dragon was still circling over-head looking for me! I tried to crouch and hide, but I was moving too slow to get away. Fortunately, I was able to pin myself up between a tree and one of the large rocks. He circled around for a couple minutes, before landing on gthe opposite side of the tree and swerving his head back and forth, scanning the area for me. I was genuinely scared, lol, and I never get scared in this game. But I realized he had a quarter of his health missing (thank you bandits) and although I was still lvl 1 I had a few lvl ups. So I saved the game, thinking I was committing suicide, and I equipped two one-handed weapons. I stepped out of cover, knowing full well he wouldn't leave until he killed me (thanks to realistic AI detection) and I just charged him with a power attack. The I just unloaded until I had to lvl up or die. And again, went crazy with power attacks. Believe it or not, I actaully won, but I was psyically sweating for it. That experience blew my mind and that's why I was considering doing a playthrough. I'm not kidding, guys. It was crazy!

CSBX, thank you for the feedback as well. I think I would have a pretty amazing backstory after the examples you gave! So, would either of you be interested in a playthrough like that?? Please let me know.
