Stuck in ground after uninstalling FCO, Crash when I use "showracemenu"

Hi, I stupidly uninstalled fallout character overhaul without changing to a vanilla race first. Now I am stuck in the ground and can only move vertically with "tcl". I tried re-installing fco and using "showracemenu" to switch to a vanilla race but then I get a instant crash. I can start a new game with no trouble but I don't really want to do that as I am already very far through in this save.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

Resolved: I simply didn't have FCO enabled in the plugins tab on nexus mod manager

Congratulations! :thumbsup: That was a real puzzle. I've never heard of that specific problem happening, but it's a classic example of why in general you shouldn't remove any mod in the middle of a game. "Weird things" often result. Thanks for sharing the good news. I've made a note of it.

 

You sound like you know what you are doing, but just in case you don't know "this":

 

It's reported that using the "ShowRaceMenu" console command can have harmful side effects, especially after "level 5". You can safely change "face proportions" and "hair". Changing the character's race will "mess up" your stat related Perks, Traits, and Implants. They will still be listed in your Pip-boy, but the effects supposedly won't be active any more. There are safer, more specialized alternatives to "ShowRaceMenu" such as "SexChange", "ShowPlasticSurgeonMenu", and "ShowBarberMenu".

 

There is a "Safe ShowRaceMenu" mod that let's you "Revise your character no matter what level you are, without resetting your stats, skills, traits and perks simply by activating a mirror". However, read the comments before plunging ahead.
