Oh!

I forgot to add in one of my most favorite "dragons" of all time:

The Amphithere, also known as the Coutl, or Quetzalcoatl.

http://fc05.deviantart.net/fs41/f/2009/047/c/a/Quetzalcoatl_by_neondragon.jpg

Most commonly found in Elsweyr, the Amphithere is a majesty to behold. A giant serpent that varies in color from emerald, ruby, azure, and ivory, that flies aloft upon large feathery wings that shine in a cascade of color.

Generally found around in forested areas, around ruins and temples, or in groves of trees, this feather-winged serpent loves places of natural beauty; Reclaimed or otherwise.

Though lacking a natural grasp of the Dragon tongue, Amphitheres are intelligent enough that they dedicate half their lifetimes to pondering, learning, and philosophizing about a single word; Giving them access to one Shouts.

The words Amphitheres study is their life, in other words.

While generally docile, should someone arrive and steal a cherished item from them while they slumber, or harm any of the flora or fauna within its' grove, it will instantly attack without hesitation or mercy.

Their choking breath, slender body, and quick attacks make them very hard enemies to hit; But they lack a lot in physical prowess.

--Amphithere--

Found around places of ancient lore, or natural beauty.

Generally attacks with a gust of wind from their wings, or tail attacks.

Has a breath weapon similar to a Spriggan's attacks.

Can call animals to aid it.

Occasionally knows one Shout (Disarm, Elemental Fury, Kyne's Peace, Whirlwind Sprint, or Unrelenting Force.

Feel free to add or detract whatever to/from it. I'd just want to fight one.

Interesting ideas everyone has here. About the matriarchs/brood mothers - I was actually going to introduce a new form of dragon. Unlike all the vanilla named dragons that fly around and whatnot, there is only one matriarch per nest lair and due to their natural position as a brood mother, they are incapable of flight despite having wings. The matriarchs will be scripted, hulking dragons easily the size of a small town i.e. the ruins of Winterhold. I'm hoping on taking a GoW approach to these and have the player take out and eliminate these beasts bit by agonizing bit. They're the ultimate dragon bosses and can easily swallow the player whole should the player get close enough to her mouth. On top of this, their resting place will always be the largest chamber of the nest, surrounded by all sides by eggs, dragonlings and a plethora of dragon guardians so merely getting to the brood mother is a challenging task in of itself.

A bit of custom lore thought up on the spot: Although Alduin and Paarthurnax are the first and second born of Akatosh, Akatosh had created one of these giant dragons and impregnated her. The matriarch isn't so much a dragon as she is a creature modeled after Akatosh's thoughts of pure beauty - one that is not modeled after physical beauty, but rather timeless beauty. Alduin and Paarthurnax were the first two born from their eggs. In the Dragon Tongue, these brood mothers are called Unslaad Fron'vahdin.

As time passed and Akatosh's attentions grew elsewhere, the Matriarch was left for her own on Nirn, pumping out eggs and supplying a near-endless supply of dragonlings. Every few hundred years, the Matriarch gave birth to a female dragon who was then escorted out to start her own nest and become her own matriarch.

Today in Skyrim, two such matriarchs have been discovered although more lay undetected. One is far, far below the Throat of the World who has grown akin to the magma and teaches her brood the ways of fiery earth. To the mortals on the surface above, the dragons born from her nest are called Magma Dragons. The other lays deep in the mountains between Skyrim and Hammerfell, behind the city of Markarth. This one taught her brood the way of the Storm and the dragons from her nest are commonly known as Storm Dragons.

Interesting concept... Perhaps I could make Alpha Dragon Matriarchs? I was looking at mine like they were female dragons who function as the draconic version of female warriors in Skyrim. I wasn't thinking of a termite queen style Matriarch, but that could be pretty cool too.

But that's kinda where the egg concept derived from, although I was originally thinking of only a couple hundred eggs or so. I mean, I like your current version now, but that was what I was originally going for with the crazy attacks and all.

Not read all of the posts yet but I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you do this as a series of mods and not one large mod package. Reason? well personally I love some ideas and I'm not so keen on others. Improved dragon battles with more shouts and a larger populace of skyrim YES. But blade wizard? no! The crazy old blade guy is supposed to basically be the historian/archivist of all things dragon, so if he cant do it then no one can.

I understand the need to split these up- and just to make things clear, I invented the concept of a mage joining the Blades so that it wouldn't be necessary to give Esbern [The Blade historian] more lines! Skyrim has great voice acting, I didn't want to ruin it by placing another voice onto a character who already exists just to expand his dialogue. So I took into account that 'lots' of people would be joining the Blades thanks to your efforts and have this new mage character/friend/follower as, say, Esbern's understudy. Esbern is dedicated to studying Alduin's Wall and the Blade archives at Sky Haven Temple- as such he can't be running around Skyrim to help you read lore walls and an assistant to help him with translation and to run messages back and forth so that work goes more smoothly means he can focus on his duties.

Alright here's the next dragon lord

Aokrilotkro [Translation: Lightning Valiant Sorcerer]

'Fo Krah Diin'- Ice-Breathing [in the air]

'Yol Toor Shul'- Fire-Breathing

'Fus Ro Dah'- Unrelenting Force [in the air]

'Wuld Nah Kest'- Whirlwind Sprint [On the ground]

'Zun Haal Viik'- Disarm

'Strun Bah Qo'- Storm Call [in the air]

'Lok Vah Koor'- Clear Skies [When attacked with Storm Call]

'Tiid Klo Ul'- Slow Time [On the ground]

'Iiz Slen Nus'- Ice Form [On the ground]

'Gol Kod Nah'- Earthquake [Translation: Earth Wield Fury] {On the ground}

Can cast 'Wards', 'Firestorm' [On the ground], 'Blizzard' [On the ground], 'Wall of Flames' [in the air], 'Wall of Frost' [in

the air], 'Flame Thrall', 'Frost Thrall' and 'Storm Thrall'

Taunts

"Thurri du hin sille ko Sovngarde!" Translation: My lord [Roughly] will devour your soul in Sovngarde! [At the beginning of the battle]

"Krif krin. Pruzah!" Translation: Fight courageously. Good! [After minions have died]

"Brit grah. [beautiful Battle] I'd forgotten what fine sport you mortals could provide!" [Whenever]

"You are brave, Dovahkiin. Your defeat brings me much honour." [Whenever]

"It's to be a real fight then. Good!" [Directly after minions have died]

"Your Thu'um is strong.... for a mortal." [After spell cool-down]

"Bovul, Dovahkiin- ahrk lahney!" Translation: Flee Dragonborn- and live! [With minions attacking]

"Watch yourself, Dovahkiin. I do not wish this to end too early!" [With minions attacking]

I'm envisioning his lair as being only accessed through a barrow, and then you finally confront him in an open pillared courtyard. He'll be atop a pillar, bombarding you with spells and shouts until you kill off his minions. This would split the fight into two stages, one where you're fighting minions- which will be difficult -and another where you fight the dragon lord himself - also very difficult -so, what do you think?

Instead of a 1, 2, finish stage setup like that, why not just have him go between the stages whenever his cooldowns for those spells are up?

For the Brood Mothers, I will be putting them into TFG as the bosses that they pose to be, but I'm hoping for a bit of variance between these two bosses. Zinn, you seem to be pretty good at making up these lords - perhaps you'd care to make up two encounters for the two Matriarchs in TFG. I'll credit you appropriately.
