I installed USSEP for mods that required it, and with it installed, skyrim launches but is stuck loading indefinitely with the skyrim logo on the screen. I've tried searching for an answer and I've cleaned up my mods with xEdit, I have the correct load order with LOOT, and I know I don't have any mods overruled by USSEP. in the meantime, ill keep looking for updates and update the comment if i find one.

UPDATE: It was the No Essential NPCs mod breaking the patch

Please tell me which CC mod is "ccBGSSSE025-AdvDSGS.esm"

I dislike using CC mods if I don't need them, mainly because they're a pain to remove, and many are poorly programmed. So I just want to cover basic requirements to use USSEP.

Is the "Bug Fixes Recommended in Addition to the Unofficial Patch" list still current in 2023?

Spoiler

It's not a CC mod. It's part of the base game in 1.6. As a result, it is one of the basic requirements of USSEP.

Spoiler

It is, but I probably should update the post because in 1.6 I've found the Achievements Enabler plugin doesn't work. You should use SSE Engine Fixes with that option enabled instead. Yes, that's overkill if that's the only thing you want done, but you can toggle the other features of it to turn off the things you don't need.

What about the other fixes from that mod? Are they covered by the USSEP?

Spoiler

For the record, this kind of thing is usually caused by a mod that has unresolved references in it. For whatever daft reason the form loading code doesn't just skip those. It spins its wheels forever looking for them.

Spoiler

No, SSE Engine Fixes is an SKSE plugin so none of what it addresses can be addressed by us. That being said, even though they claim everyone suffers from every bug, that's not necessarily true.
