Nope. There's really no reason to stay at 1.5.97 anyway.

The USSEP creator/s should have kept the older versions available because they're still a lot of mods that are probably not going to update their mods, so this really does break modding for Skyrim as many mods have come to require USSEP to function properly. no hate just....

In case you dont know, I will say this again. you should and need to use the latest USSEP REGARDLESS of your version. Even for 1.5.97.

Supra and Goat both... you are factually wrong, as we have explained countless times before.
Spoiler
The vast majority of mods out there are module or asset-based mods and are likely version-agnostic and easily updated if they are not. Secondly, SKSE and the vast majority of mods out there that add their own DLLs via SKSE have been updated. It's been a year and a half since the first iteration of 1.6 and eight months since 1.6.629 upended things again. If a mod hasn't caught up by now, the modder is either unreasonably obstinate or has abandoned the mod and the mod should be left behind.
Additionally, USSEP is tied to specific versions because each version of the game often has alterations done to the core game modules and assets. Additionally, four new modules became "vanilla" with 1.6, which we now cover. These are not present before 1.6.
We are not going to cater to the obstinacy and abandonment of other modders. We did our due diligence keeping up with mods, and do not have the time or want to support multiple versions of the Official Patch or the immensely complex Unofficial Patch.

I want to report a vanilla bug USSEP does not fix. There is a random encounter character, a dark elf named Faldrus who says he's an Azura worshipper and tells you of the corresponding shrine. If you kill Faldrus (for example, you are roleplaying a Stendarr's vigilant or an Almsivi loyalist), you will meet him again, alive, in one of the next random encounters. The game does not track if Faldrus is dead when determining random encounters, so you can meet Faldrus several times and kill him several times.

It's a random encounter. All random encounters behave that way.
I noticed it on the courir and on other supposedly unique characters like the mad oblivion mage on Solstheim as well.
I don´t think it is necessary to fix this.
