Beginer Mod NPC questions / Help.

Hello Everyone!!

I would like to make some Companion NPC that others can program to be a romantic lover.

I am going to embark on fantasy only Men and Ladies. This includes maybe a couple of Rocker long haired Host boys or whats known as Flower boys in the Asian culture, Asian, Elves, Kitsune, spriggian, trolls, fae, demon boys, nekos, wolf's etc. Mer men ( I am open to adding to the list based on popularity!! Tell me what you want!)

I am about to embark on the game of Skyrm. I have been a LONG time lover of Elder scrolls from the beginning of Morrowind. I am a creator for a virtual realty called SL. I have a shop called Harajuka Girls. I make 3-d clothing, skins for avatars and textures. I usually use Gimp and know a bit about PS. In this construction set or now its called creation set, I would like some pointers.

1. Firstly, I need to know what graphics programs I can import my Tga files into to change them to dds or nif?

2. From what I understand, in the old CS. you went to the folder icon and checked all the .esm like the oblivion master file and other ems you have downloaded and can use those mods for a base as long as the desc says you can use them. (dont worry I will ask personally if I chose to do it)

3.IS blender used to create basic human shapes or meshes? From what I understand its super hard! I need to learn this since some of the shapes are not your basic humanoid stuff like Slanty Asian eyes. Only in the Sims have I ever found an editor that allows you the freedom to really get the Asian fold and curve right. Boy if there was a way I could import my shapes from the creations I created there all the fan girls would die.

I mainly need a few graphics programs I can upload my textures to so I can put that skin on an actual Mesh in the creation set. I will also do these for Oblivion as well! I will probably do them in Oblivion first to practice. I saw the program nif scope in which you can "View" files.. I have no clue if there is an actual modders standard that is a favorite? So rather than ask the same question over and over I am going to ask here.

I am super excited togo down this rabbit hole and make it work for all the ladies and gents who want that extra magic!

Wish me luck. Small sample below As you can see its a mix of REAl and created parts. I am done with this cartoony stuff and want a mix of some realisim.

1. Gimp has the plug-in for dds and it's free. You can even use it to port the textures over so that Photoshop can open and edit them, if you aren't wanting to work with a program you haven't used before.

2. Yeah, it's similar to that, so you've got that right.

3. I've never messed with SL, but I know that if you can use many different 3d modeling programs. If you have a 3d model, port it over to either blender or 3ds max. I personally prefer blender, for me the system seems more intuitive. Also, it has the easiest weight painting system, as far as I can tell.

Good luck on your modding experience. I've enjoyed modding even when it's been a terrible pain in the ass. If you have rigging questions, I'm really good at that. Modeling, not so much.

What version of blender do modders use these days? Is there a new NIF scripts for the newest version of blender? And if so where can I find it?
