Spoiler

Uh... no. Probably not. There's a bit of an assumption that those of us who can't mesh to save our lives know to do things like that :P

NifScan is indeed not clear why this is even supposed to be an issue, so I was in no way willing to touch hundreds of meshes by hand to correct something that didn't look broken.

Automated tool? Whole other thing, so I'd just need to know for sure if it would be safe to let fly on 2100+ meshes and have it strip this data and the flags without having to worry too much.

I'll try it on some smaller stuff in the meantime and see what happens. Either way, huge thanks. This is a major time saver for everyone.

Spoiler

It should be pretty stable by now, but as you can see in the bugs section, you shouldn't rely on it 100% of the time just yet. My suggestion would be testing the NIFs after conversion, but of course that's kinda hard for 2100+ of them.

Maybe you can convert them all and then do a test run through all kinds of environments and cities as a start.

Spoiler

What do we do if a body cuirass (say iron armor hypothetical) fails to update a block with tangent space? the other parts work but the part that doesnt update is invisible ingame (and yes the dismemberment skin instance is set to 32)

Spoiler

What exactly do you want to do? You don't need to update tangents anymore if you use this tool, it adds tangents to the things that need it, and it removes them from things that don't.

NifSkope Pre-Alpha 6 can't run the "Update Tangents" spell for SSE meshes yet, that only works for SK meshes as of now.

Great, I'm looking forward to trying this out on a couple strange invisible armor pieces I've been puzzling over.

Spoiler

Your download history says that you haven't downloaded v1.2 yet.
You should try that and run it on the original, untouched meshes again.
