Can you use old ENB:S?

It is my understanding that the ENB's for the original Skyrim should not work for Special Edition. However, it is my understanding some Fallout 4 ENB's work for it. A lot of ENB presets for Skyrim use older ENB binaries, so those shouldn't work well with the new 64-bit architecture. I suppose you could just try and see if you can get it to work if you're curious though. That shouldn't cause any issues you can't easily fix.

I wonder if I can just drop in my old ENB:s that I used back with regular version of Skyrim into Special Edition?

Or will I need to use updated ENB:s made for Special Edition?

You can use the "enbseries.ini" file from oldrim with newest enb for SSE. But only that file. I had a custom preset enbseries file I made for oldrim. Couldn't find one for SSE that did what I wanted so decided to try it. Tried using entire enb files. Didn't work. But now have the 1 file "enbseries.ini" from oldrim in my SSE folder. And it works perfect. Through I did have to make a lot of adjustments. But that is because I upgraded my TV from 1080p to 4k. But worked even before changes. Can't say all will work. But try and see. Just backup anything your replacing. Then if it doesn't work. Just put back what you replaced.
